Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabaz Memorial, Educational And Cultural Center

This place is a lot smaller than I thought. The downstairs does not have much and the upstairs is a big room with a couple of murals and several displays with Malcolm X quotes.

The center director, Brian, is very accommodating and knowledgeable .

The statue isn't where the original podium was. Go to the 2nd floor, to the pillar closest to the window. midway in room-we need a plaque !!!

Go to the 2nd floor. Pillar closest to window, midway point in the room NEEDS TO BE a plaque marking where Malcolm stood that fateful day.

This used to be the site of the Audubon Ballroom which is better known as where Malcom X was assassinated on February 21, 1965. This is now a memorial.
