Library - memorial to the book burning 1933. An underground room in the middle of the Bebelplatz with empty shelves that can be viewed through a pane from above.
Bebelplatz 10117 Berlin Germany
So easy to miss but really impactfull nonetheless. Peek into the ground in the middle of the square and see rows and rows of empty bookshelves to represent all books burnt by the Nazi bookburning
Impressive and sad and beautiful.
Come back at night
We had a hard time finding it but the event it marks is so terrible the search is worthwhile. Take a moment to stand here. Learn.
Go at night to see it being lit up for a more haunting impression
Schauriges Gefühl....

2€ entry but worth it! - Gee N
Best place to learn about the Berlin Wall with lots of info. Better start from the Brunnenstraße end towards Nordbahnhof, but there's no fixed route. - Annix L.
Worth a quiet visit. The intersection of Soviet motifs in what is now a solidly European setting is jarring and thought provoking. - Brian Dammeir
The best Christmas Market I've ever visited was here! Lots of foods, good music and the christmassy vibes all around :) - Canan CmDnz
