Like a sea of tranquility rising above the cesspit of the rest of Euston. Don't worry about earlier negative tips - it was vastly refurbished in early 2014 and is now much better.
The flagship Virgin Trains First Class lounge - full bar-paid unless Virgin Traveller and prices have increased also, showers and great refreshments. No supplement and limited restrictions-cool lounge !
Vastly improved since 2013. Reasonable place to use before or after a trip at the weekend to catch your breath for next leg of a journey. Staff polite and coffee and hot chocolate from the machine ????
Refurbished since my last visit so miles better in that regard. Not easy to move cases around as everything is so close. Please add more departure boards as most seats can't see any!
A nice quiet place to chill if you have time to kill. Platforms are really easily accessible, and you can get passes with the rewards programme for virgin
The lounge is great for killing some time you may have left. I wouldn't bother connecting to the Internet as it is rather slow but help yourself to all the drinks! Great way to relax after a long day!
Currently being refurbished but its upper deck location & enlarged space are a massive improvement. Tea / coffee , bar , snacks and wifi . What more could you need?
Better out of peak times, olives are very nice, my fave place to relax before my train , fre snacks and soft drinks and paid for alcohol
Quiet lounge on right. Espresso good. Can be really jam packed and like a cattle market at times...but still better than on the normal concourse
There is now a great addition to the freebies called "Uglies" and they are the best thing in the lounge now!
If you have trouble finding a power socket to charge your electronic device on the walls, look for ones on the floor near the chairs looking over main concourse .
It has recently been upgraded and seems a lot nicer now. Clean and refreshing. It's a place to relax after a long day.
Could use a referb and it beats hanging about on the concourse by miles. Soft drinks , device charging and wife are all free. Bring some earphones to prevent overhearing others
Definitely utilise this if you have 1st class tickets . Free drinks and snacks alone are worth it
This is a first class lounge and a very third class experience. Not really worth climbing the stairs for .
Great place to relax waiting for your train .
Ask the Barista to make you a free coffee rather than queue for the coffee machine ! Quicker and much nicer!
Don't be deterred by beady eyes when you are loading up on the free goodies. See it as payback for the forever rising rail fares.
Pleasantly surprise. Nice lounge , nice selection of soft drinks and refreshments. Alcoholic drinks are optional extra
Quite nice actually. Try and travel the States by train and maybe you'll have more appreciation for the niceties here!
Some new seating has been added since I last used it they are suite funky for single passengers.
You're NOT allowed to upgrade a weekend ticket to first class here at the lounge . You have to do it on the train .
Odd hospital waiting room feel, dirty and shabby, but it's air conditioned and if your lucky there's a comfy seat , so it beats standing in the main concourse !
Load of first class thickos in here who sit in the quiet zone and use their mobile phones. Arghh!
Free hot and soft drinks , alcohol u have to pay for. Just how ur first class ticket as u come in. However not much space or seats especially with everyones cases.
There is a extra 5 pounds fee, even if you are first class
Mr Branson please take note: first class lounge is nothing short of pathetic!
Lounge very good. Similar like lounge for flight
The soft drink cups here are tiny. Use the coffee cups instead!
Absolutely rammed on Friday evening work stations taken up by people not using them. Feels like a Witherspoons
Relax before your train here
Virgin lounge a la heathrow airport it ain't so don't set your expectations too high. But u can get a cuppa and a drink etc. I would not plan to spend too much time here!
It's great place to recharge and not have to deal with the crowd below
Standard class is the same cabin as first, they just fold up the top bunk. Quiet nights you get cabin to yourself anyway.
Very nice first class lounge !
Pretty bust on a evening before 'off peak' kicks in at 7pm. Be prepared to stand!
Small place, but good service
Certainly needs a refresh - Birmingham New Street new Lounge shows what could be done
I think if people saw what the lounge was before they bought 1st class , they probably wouldn't go through with it. That said, it has all the basics.
Good place to work and make calls
Better than the main station. Free drinks and snacks .
Compared to the main concourse at Euston, the lounge is great.
It’s now the Avanti First Class Lounge
So many staff in lounge just now at 12.30, about 6 or 7, yet tables are dirty , poor show! TV is loud . Pretty poor! The SBB 1st class at Zurich Hbf is the benchmark for rail lounges in my opinion!
Euston is generally a terrible station. Therefore the first class lounge is not as bad as the rest of the station. However, anyone can put a few sofas and a tv in a room.
Mark and Priti members of the virgin customer service team are extremely rude. Of if you can use a different service please do.
Try to book adjacent cabins if travelling with friends & get the connecting door unlocked. It makes the cabins feel much bigger.
Closes at 23.00 but if you're getting the Caledonian Sleeper you should be able to board by then.
It is all grey now... More comfy seats but the beer price has gone up :-(
All they serve is biscuits on Saturday. What a fail!
You can get a reasonable light meal at Cafe Rouge; good for when you've got half an hour or so to burn before your train and your hungry :) - Miles Mercer
A huge branch with quite a good variety of food. However, the bakery is a little haphazard these days. - Stephen Crocker
Nice size cafe with leather chairs, bit worn after a busy day.. Cafe mocha is good. - John A
Bright and airy. Comfortable sofas and good selection of refreshments. If you have a long wait at King's Cross, would highly recommend. - Zafar Abbas
If you like stronger coffee than their americano try a double expresso - Toby Parkins
