Mentai rice (RM19) is a must! But you need to add on some fish/sashimi/other sides (min. RM6.50) to make it a lunch . Otherwise, confirm not full. Hence, it's quite pricey but it's authentic and good.

Mentai tamago rice was really good! I didn't have high hopes for it as I usually don't fancy tamago which is usually sweet but this was just right ????????. Saba miso and sashimi was good as well .

Food is always delicious and consistent. The grilled squid is tender and squid guts are served on the side, bursting with umami flavour. Mentai rice is always a must.

Most of the dishes taste good & fresh especially sashimi platter & the Mantai Rice (did I spell correctly! ????) also the fish head, but quite disappointed with the squid !

"Happiness" to me is a medley of the freshest possible fish pieces, a bowl of excellently prepared akitakomachi rice , a piece of succulent ocean trout teriyaki and a glass of cold roasted barley tea .

A compact Japanese restaurant with special and delicious Japanese dishes . The staff is well trained to explain the dishes which are half labeled in Japanese, and very friendly to manage the busy place

Everything here is good and authentic . Try their goma ice cream !! It's delicious! Breakfast set is at RM16. Teriyaki trout is superb!

Really reasonably priced sashimi platter and this little place swears by serving up only the freshest fish of the day.

Mental rice (Rm18) was delicious! Cod fish was underseasoned, ocean trout belly was not bad. Small place, packed during lunch hour.

They serve really good & authentic jap food but a really tiny lil shop that u might needa wait quite long for a table if u're going in a group of more than 4...

Slightly pricey but really fresh ingredients . Select your choice of sashimi or seafood at the front counter and it'll be served to you.

Order the mentai rice ! It's very good! The Hokkaido scallop is just so so albeit it's big. Grilled trout belly is fatty like it should be :)

Love that a Japanese chef is operating a very Japanese style sushi bar . Prices a bit high but reasonable for the quality.

Portions here aren't that big for the price you're paying, but the quality of food is above average. The sashimi platter we ordered was fresh. The mentai rice is really fragrant, a good pairing.

Their scale is small,so to bring in fresh ingredient is costly.the result to that is,u will still feel hungry after spending a lot.

I have always been a fish fanatic. This is the place to be for Japanese fish cuisine lovers.

U expect excellent no frills food frm reviews.But..I think for that price, I was expecting sweeter and better quality product. Ikura=not fresh-fresh, texture slightly deflated. Hamachi=not as sweet.

Came here to try the tamagomentai rice . Pretty ok. The teriyaki cod is a bit too salty, fish bowl alright, salmon sashimi was great ????

Interesting experience. The ingredients used were of high quality. Wasabi ice cream was a little weird though.

The salmon belly with uni was fresh, but the slicing was too thin. The sashimi platter was fresh as well but there’s nothing special about it.

Portions generally smaller than expected, grilled fish is good, sashimi fresh but sliced too thinly and cuts we got were not that flavourful, rice too wet and mushy, green tea is tasteless, salad OK

Step in to the shop and it smells fishy ???? tamago mentai is niceee! Quite a small bowl thou.
