Super cute , inexpensive , large portions & not too busy on a Fri. night. What's not to like? The truffle ravioli was delish & gelato could feed 4. I'll def be back to try some other tasty menu items!
We just wandered in here one Friday evening and were surprised how amazing it is! The ravioli dishes were fantastic! Sit upstairs!
Fresh fettuccine with beef is so good, all flavors were in perfect balance ..but it is heavy so make sure you are hungry
Really great homemade Italian made with a lot of love and attention to detail. I imagine this is the same Max of the east village that won my heart the 1st time. Walk don't run.
Warm, charming little restaurant with delicious freshly-made pasta at surprisingly affordable prices . The Lamb Ragù was exceptional!
Tried & True- the lasagna , the lamb ragu and the fettucine , can't go at this place! Their location in the east village has an enclosed outdoor patio in the back. Lovely!
Gnocchi was ok, salad was great. Loved the area and the old New York feel. Good service too.
First time: black spagetti was to die for! Creamed spinach was also good. I have my eyes on the pizzas next time! Def coming back.
Try the black squid ink pasta with seafood . Perfect on a cold winter day. The calamari is also great. Good value .
Orderd the ricotta chees and spinach ravioli in truffle cream sauce to die for !!!! A lil heavy on truffle oil but still delicious.
All the pastas are great, fresh made ; but they've been known for their lasagna and gniocci. Ask for the specials
The table by the window is nice for looking out, but too close to the other table and you will not be so comfortable .
Nice little find. Good, hearty Italian grub. Go for the lamb ragout, very tasty.
Jorge and Hugo are simple te best. This place is cozy and makes you feel like home
Solid pasta dishes. Large potions.
The pizza is amazing! Add the Truffle Fries as a side to make it even better!
Great little place and good value . I had total food envy over the Lasagne despite my meatballs being awesome.
Killer meatballs and my go to entree is the black linguine with spicy shrimp . ????
The pumpkin ravioli was amazing
Haven't had better Italian food anywhere else in NYC. Everything on their menu is delish.
Delicious, underrated cozy place. Get the pasta with the house sauce .
Usually not too crowded , great staff , quick food and slightly innovative twist on the dishes (like black squid ink noodles )
Solid Italian food . Nice decor. A bargain in the neighborhood .
Charming Italian place that's both inexpensive and delicious. Recommend the gnocchi and ravioli .
New tip: get the lamb ragu . ????
The rigatoni al ragù napoletano is flavorful and hearty, but feel free to skip the underwhelming caprese.
Big portion sizes. Decent prices. Try the rigatoni with eggplant .
All the pasta is great. I highly recommend the gnocchi .
We went again to see what’s happening and I honestly don’t understand who is giving them high grades. There must be a way to use social media skills to up your score. Nothing to write home about!!!
Amazing food. Love the bolognese and the eggplant .
Amazing atmosphere, perfect food. Prosciutto with mozzarella was amazing with the lasagna....mmmmmm
The Sugo toscano is a must...as is the caprese!!! One of my favorite italian places ..will not disappoint.
It’s a small place with a cozy feel to it and also serves the best pasta ala sugo I think for cheap . -Ed Cotton, Top Chef
Get the fetuccini with max meat sauce, best dish!
Best homemade spaghettini I've ever had. Delicious lamb ragu .
My husband order the chicken and salad taste good but faild on execution was not presentable looked like a big plate of salad and had to dig at bottom for chicken
Pretty typical NYC Italian faire . Food and service are both fine. You can find better at the same price.
Village Voice is excited to have Max at the 2012 ChoiceEats food fest! Full list of restaurants here: http://ow.ly/8QjDQ
Huge downgrade in food quality vs 6 mo ago. Two pastas we had were among the worst we’ve ever eaten—just flat out bad. Friendly staff but food no good. It’s nyc - plenty of other options.
Amazing crostini with pate on it!
The new pizzas are excellent. Try the Tartufata!
The dish with truffle oil is out of this world.
Definitely recommend this place! Fettuccine is to die for.
My absolute favorite in Tribeca!
Nice pasta . No pizza on sundays though...
Orecchiette Pugliesi, gnocchi , bruschetta
Great atmosphere loved the Max pizza
Fresh pasta and good dessert
Great place for a quiet dinner . Try the chicken ... (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
The bruschetta is very good
