Even at a peak time on a Saturday there were enough trails that it wasn't overwhelming. Gorgeous views from peaks, took my best friend from out-of-town there and he loved it as well .
If you drive you car to the top of South Mountain, you can see all of the city lights surrounds you. Perfect view
Tons of hiking areas! This has got to be my favorite hiking spot. The mountain has a variety of hiking levels, both steep and hilly. The best spot - Desert Foothills Parkway and Desert Broom Way.

Lots of homeless people garbage just off trails . You notice because you can see junk 2 feet off trail . Here's a homie's Sega control.
Want to go night hiking ? Get there before the entrance gate closes at 7pm and you can hike until 11!
The mountain goes on and on and on...
Very peaceful . Just wish other pet owners would pick up their pet’s waste
Incredible year-round adventure awaits. Stay on the trail and enjoy the magnificent desert.

Numerous trail heads, lots of parking spots, and endless miles of trails. Bathrooms at most of the trailheads and the park is easily accessible from Phoenix, Tempe & Ahwatukee. - Summer
Off the beaten path trail entrance that delivers a much better than expected experience. Mostly rocky trail and fairly rigorous from the get go. Great way to get to Hidden Valley and Fat Man's Pass. - ????Andrew Kolikoff????
