Wow, this place lives up to its reputation. For two people, I highly recommend the Omakase , which provides multiple courses of various chicken skewers and seasonal vegetables and more!
Must do the 10 skewer Chef 's Omakase (7 meat, 3 veggie)! $50 pp. My faves: Chicken thigh , chicken meatball , fried chicken , chicken oyster (in pic), chicken neck, chicken rib , duck/chicken meatball .
Think of this as a way to enjoy ten succulent skewers of charcoal-grilled chicken parts for $70 in about an hour. Awarded three stars in a review praising the foot-to-beak approach to poultry cooking. Read more
Chefs grill nearly every part of the chicken over coals — thighs, breasts, knee bones, arteries, oysters , skin, ribs — and hand over the morsels as if this were a sushi bar . Read more
1st time? May wanna go omakase but then focus on ur favs: lotus chicken app, duck w/broth seasonal item , & chicken oyster and meatball skewers . Lovely experience. Dat lemongrass shaker seasoning!
Best yakitori in New York. Get the omakase and be specific about your favorite type of meats. I recommend asking for as much offals as you can get. The liver is creamy and the heart, sweet and tender.
Nothing short of perfection, the yakitori here will leave you with severe separation anxiety. The sake list is thoughtfully curated, & prices accessible. Be sure to introduce yourself to chef Urashi.
Finding a traditional binchōtan-fueled grill is hard to come by, but they've got the real stuff at this old-school Michelin-starred yakitori . A mere $65 gets you a wide sampling of skewers . Read more
Sit at the bar and get the omakase . Add the uni garlic over toast if you're really hungry. They are usually packed, make reservations ahead. One Michelin star .
this place is heaven on earth. tonight was my second time, and it was every bit as amazing as the first time. get the omakase ...its just enough to fill you up with the best yakitori in ny.
Head to this excellent yakitori for masterfully grilled chicken parts and Japanese small plates . You can order a la carte, but Ryan Sutton recommends the omakase . Read more
Wow! Omakase and 10 skewer dishes were phenomenal. I also HIGHLY recommend the chicken liver . Melts in your mouth. Service is also very very good, despite the other reviews.
Michelin and Yakitori ? Must be exceptional! Omakase is the way to go. Although the sound of internal organ may put you off, I recommend trying the course as is
Get the skewer sampler if it’s your first visit. The food is incredible and the service is outstanding.
I’ve been here for the regular menu and the Select Counter...both are outstanding. This is truly next-level yakitori . And their sake list is outstanding!
Yakitori omakase . Good quality chicken and great desserts . Michelin 1 star. Will be back!
The best tsukune, even better than the one in Tokyo, I ve ever had. Dip it into the fresh egg yolk , then nom!
I've never liked yakitori but this place does it exceptionally well . Get these skewers : the heart, chicken oyster , special meatball and belly skin.
Their yakitori was delicious. The downside is it was a Saturday night so it took over three hours to get our chef 's Omakase . No one should have to wait that long for food. A disappointing experience.
Friend who have lived in Japan for many years said that the food there was authentic . My favorite dish is Oyako Don. Oishi!
Would recommend the pork belly , chicken thigh with miso , and chicken thigh with yuan sauce if getting a la carte. Panna cotta for dessert
Definitely the best Yakitori in town . They will push you their set menu , which include some unnecessary starters but I advise you go dive into Yakitori from the start.
Try the omakase for $65/person. Request for the more adventurous skewers if you want to make sure you try something new
Omakase ($65/pp) is the way to go. It is deceivingly filling. Always ask for bonjiri if they have it.
Somethin special. You’ve had all these parts of a chicken before, but never with so much care and precision for each part.
Completely delicious. Ask to sit at the lovely peaceful bar , and don't skip the avocado !
Haven't had such authentic , delicious yakitori since Japan. Highly recommend the omakase .
Fav order is the 10-skewer meal + some add-on's. Best Yakitori in NYC. $40 corkage.
An amazing experience at the chefs ' table. A lot of great food and service. And the toilets !!!
The omakase is a must do. And make sure you ask for the grilled bamboo shoots and the chicken oysters and the pork belly wrapped tomatoes
NYT Critic's Pick *** (4/2017): "Grilled chicken ; grilled mushrooms ; grilled zucchini ; oyako-don; shiso sorbet ."
Love the grilled veggies . We asked the waitress to choose for us and it was an unforgettable expierence.
Expect perfectly grilled skewers . Also try cold duck , chicken meatballs wrapped in duck skin, or chicken "oysters ." – Green Guide Editor
Get any of the organic chicken skewers & spicy chicken wings .
Felt like we traveled to Tokyo. Food is amazing. Fun atmosphere .
Incredibly tender meats. For sure do the tasting menu . Amazing flavors!
Yes, listen to everyone else and go with the Omakase . The wagyu is quite delicious as well although a bit pricey at $15.
The 10-course menu (only available at the bar ) is plenty of food. Some skewers were great, others were disappointing…
So while you might be tempted to order a la carte here, you shouldn't. Whenever chicken is involved, Tori Shin gets it right. ★★★
Definitely get the uni if you want something different to accent all the chicken you'd be eating
everything about this place is perfect. one of the top japanese restaurants in nyc
Hands down, the best Yakitori in New York. Sit down in front of Chef Kano, ask for the omakase !!
Sit at the yakatori bar , anything chicken will be fabulous . DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE ORGANS!
Pork belly and cherry tomato skewers were delicious!
Should've done the omakase ! Loved the oyako donburi and the house sake
Tare is too watery. Yakitori lacks the typical grill flavor. Pacing of the omakase course is completely off, with very extensive wait times btwn courses. Weird sequencing w wagyu served btwn yakitori
Michelin star yakitori ... I'd buy that. Good stuff. Full of Japanese patrons. Always a good sign.
To get the best experience, sit at the bar and ask the chef what's for special. Also, go on Fridays when they stock up on meat.
Probably best yakitori I've ever had. We ordered our chicken medium rare. Highest level of respect for chicken . Shoulder, heart, gizzard , breast, everything was succulent. Get omakase for $60.
omakase is the way to go. eat a chicken from head to bottom, inside to outside.
Anything in a skewer is grilled to perfection, but also eat the eggplant which has such a fabulous sauce you want to dip everything in it. One of my favorite NY spots. - Susan Zuckert
Curry udon, clams, and shrimp katsu were all fantastic! Order a bunch of skewers and plates, eat them, and then order a whole bunch more! - Tyler Simmons
Real ginger ale! Fresh fried chicken! Love the pork shabu shabu salad as well! - Bea
A great place to visit to experience that New York vibe, a lot of people from different backgrounds, cool stores and overall just a awesome experience. - Malek Almutairi
everything on the menu is incredibly tasty, love the flavors here. room a little too loud but the food makes it totally worth it - the frozen mango margaritas are killin - jon vanhala
The frozen hot chocolate is the obvious 'go to' here, but I don't think you can go wrong with any of the desserts! Derishus. Worth the wait! - Bradley Carter
