My favorite hotel in the world! Rooms are organized by the Dewey Decimal System , and all set up with different categories of books . Gorgeous rooftop bar , lovely reading room - just perfect!

If god forbid you find yourself in midtown on a beautiful day, the rooftop here is lovely. Great cocktails , couches to park on, and some covered sections that still let you bask in the sun.

Themed hotels might be big things now, but this one pulls out all the stops. I got a kick out of the placards near the doors of all the rooms, which hearken back to the Dewey Decimal System . Read more

Very comfortable rooms and excellent hotel overall! Try the Madison & Vine restaurant while you are here. The food is fab although on the pricey side.

Great rooftop bar (part of Grand Central's famed bar ), quaint rooms by topic of book , free wine upon check-in and free wine and cheese from 5-8pm!!! Amazing deals!!!

Lovely, if small rooms. Great location for sightseeing in NY. Cheaper than many top end hotels ; more boutique and classy .

If possible, ask the front desk for a room facing the NY public library . Not only is the view great, but your window will also give you an uptown & downtown shot of Madison Avenue. Looks great @ night

Cocktail quality leaves much to be desired, but the setting makes up for it.

Pricey .... tuna could be best.... martini is perfect.

Second-floor reading room , open 24/7, boasts well-stocked shelves and plenty of stimulating conversation.

Get a room facing the central library . The front desk will likely offer you a bottle of prosecco upon check in.

Down the street from the VML NY office . Again, have not been there enough to really give tips. It's a rooftop for this building, but not the tallest in the area by any means.

Atmosphere was cool but probably worst service I have every experienced in Manhattan and extremely expensive !
