This was originally called Winthrop park , but Winthrop didn't have any kids, so no one contested the name change to honor Pastor McGolrick.

Beautiful, quiet , and much more stately and elegant than McCarren. Reminds me a lot of Tompkins Square Park , actually.

One of my favorite parks in NYC. Lots of benches . Not a lot of traffic nearby. Beautiful colonnade in the middle.
