Don't be fooled. The park name dates back to 1896 when the city bought the land from PT Barnum. It was used as a neighborhood space for rec, Holliday gatherings and baseball games. Know your history.
nice place for a quick stroll! there were lots of skateboarders , and there's a large playground and volleyball area

Dog runs for big and little dogs. A 1/3 mile track . Enough grass to sit and have a picnic .
Around noon, there is a non-profit by the entrance of the park giving out free food for people in need.

This park was names after Maria Hernandez was at her apt on Starr St. looking out her window and was shot up for calling and reporting crime around her nieghborhood.
