Check out the view from the 10th floor! Large range of different artists , like Matisse, Monet, Salvador Dali, Marcel Duchamp and many more! Book store is great for books about art and graphic design.
Free admission . Head on over to Switch House for a 360-view of London. You can even take a peek at how the rich Londoners live at the adjacent ultra luxe condominiums. Privacy level: zero.
One of my favorite places in London. See the caffe and also the new 10th floor viewing platform . The view to London apartments was surprising
The building is amazing and it’s great to wander in and out of each gallery seeing such different types of art in very different forms. The setting is excellent too being located right by the Thames .
Great way to spend a couple of hours looking at the exhibits . Good gift shop too and on The Thames so always good to combine a visit with a walk along the river . Food and drink served too.
Spare good amount of time if you are a fan of contemporary art because this place has a massive and great collection! Dont miss the temporary exhibitions , though visiting all will take more than a day
On level 3 of the Boiler House stack, there are balconies overlooking the River Thames . Walk past the gift shops & you will find the doors out to scenic views of the waterfront
A premier institute for world class modern art , including a robust portfolio of pop art . Don't forget to grab a cup of Earl Grey on the top floor and take in the stunning views .
Track down a Salvador Dalí painting "Autumnal Cannibalism" on level 2 of the Boiler House stack. Surreal & full of interpretations
Brilliant way to spend an afternoon or a full day. The views on the top floor are pretty good, too! (If you’re willing to wait for the lift, but it is free!)
Diverse collection of contemporary art displayed, plus it’s free entry! Some exhibitions are paid but you can see a lot for free. Make sure to go to the 10th floor for a fantastic view of the city
One of the best museums in the world. Don't miss the Rothko room. Sit and meditate in the room as the colors evoke moods in you.
I would strongly advice to reserve one day in the weekdays if you want to do an exhibition , do the tour of the free displays. TIP : Do at least one of the 3 different free tours (12AM, 1PM, 2PM)
u have to go there for pump it new things about art..there are lots of young innovater artist/painter/performer's exhibitions .. the time pass very quickly and you can give a break on 7.th floor's cafe
An amazing space that needs to be seen to be appreciated. Always something interesting to see and a nice part of town with plenty of other great things to see and do. Good shop as well .
Great building in itself, the art exhibitions aren't always good (sometimes not even art per se) - They don't seem to do any installaitons in the turbine hall any more.
Beautifully designed museum with nice exhibitions . Some are free. Members get special prices on entries/merch. Easily accessible with a bus station , tube and taxis around
Went to see the infinity rooms and absolutely blown away. I always love the Tate Modern, it's always a place where I can destress and enjoy the arts and ambience.
Try to attend midweek if possible to avoid large crowds. Also a good idea to start from the top and work your way round to speed the process up
building is amazing, views specially the 360 one from top floor. Check exhibits before you go sometimes they can be a little frustrating or too conceptual for some. 1 of my favorite museums in tow.
Rothko , Warhol, and you also get to see some of Picasso & Dali. Admission is free, and the gift shop has some really interesting art-related books that are definitely worth checking out.
The most visited modern art gallery in the world, Tate Modern features a vast collection of art and exhibitions of all shapes and sizes. Go to the bar at the top for a great view of London.
A must-see if you're in London. The gift shops are fantastic and there are some mindblowing stuff in the free exhibitions too. They have oat milk in the bar and the coffee is excellent too.
The Tate Modern is a must-visit for any modern art fan, but a fun thing to make sure you won't miss is the mist performance art near the Switch House.
Always has been a great museum , and now with the opening of the switch house even better, I recon it has the best to the city of London
One or the best contemporary art museums in the world, with great permanent as well as temporary exhibits . A must visit for art lovers.
????Give at least a half day. Take a break at the cafe and ask if they have the red velvet cake ????????????. See the Babel Tower installation(if still there) and read the explanation. ????
The museum is pretty large and quite stunning against the backdrop of the Thames . Only 4 out of 10 floors was open probably due to post-lockdown; most of the exhibits focus on society and politics
Love this place, space, art . One of my favorite lunch spots in the Modern Cafe as the view is spectacular. You can walk across the Millennium bridge after your visit and tour St. Paul's Cathedral .
One of my favorite Museums in London. It's free (only need to pay for special exhibits ) and has a great view of the bank from the cafe/balconies. Spend some time in the Rothko Room.
This museum houses historic British art and some contemporary works. Extensive Turner collection. Free entrance for the permanent colllection. Always interesting exhibitions on a regular basis
Free admissions with suggested donations. Great way to spend a few hours looking at weird "art " housed in a interesting building. Note that special exhibitions require tickets.
Sitting on the banks of the River Thames , it is Britain’s National Art Museum . It features an array of modern and contemporary art and should be top of the list of any serious art enthusiast. Read more
Free entrance (with the exception of one or two exhibits ). It is quite big so plan ahead. You can also enjoy the ride and cross the Millenium bridge ;)
Beware the large numbers of school groups during the middle of the day during the week! Still a fantastic gallery - The collection of surrealism works is superb, including Arp, Duchamp, Dali and more!
Did you know? Tate Modern was originally the Bankside Power Station (built by British architect Sir Giles Gilbert Scott after WWII)
The mona hatoum exhibit is probably the best modern art collection I've ever seen. Meaningful, detailed, and not to mention really cool looking.
Even if you're not an art fan come and check out the amazing building. Great views from the cafe if you can get a seat and the main shop is worth a browse for gifts . Plus it's all free!
Free exhibitions are great, as are the paid. Though at the moment you'll want to see both which is a little pricey . Go to the viewing deck on level 3. Stunning
Gerhard Richter, Lucian Freud, Mark Rothko , the Surrealists, the great spaces, Kandinsky, the Minimalists, the Warhol, the BOOKSHOP ! ???? Could go on forever.
Incredible place to explore even if you don't like art . Art is not my thing at all and I would definitely go back again. Could spend a whole day or just an hour here. Do not miss it.
Great museum with an incredible collection of modern art that you can visit for free. The architecture of the building itself is also worth the trip across the Thames .
There is a cafe on one of the highest floors. Go there and enjoy the picturesque view of the city . St Paul's Cathedral looks magnificent from here.
What a fantastic journey. What a treat! Picasso , Dali, Kandinsky, jasper, pollock, mark Rothko , man ray and more! Highly recommended for modern art lovers!!
Quite unique, way more modern than expected. Many of the exhibits involved multimedia and felt futuristic, plus lots of sculptures and large off-the-wall items!!! Huge space , esp with Blavatnik bldg
First presented at SALT Beyoglu (Istanbul, Turkey ) in 2011, Hrair Sarkissian’s “Istory” (2010) is currently on show in “Points of Memory: A timeline of Conflict, Time, Photography ” at Tate Modern.
Free access in some areas with Picasso and Dali's paintings , between many other artists ! Very nice place with beautiful architecture based on an old power station! Enjoy the view to Thames river too!
Concrete structure of The Tanks is so powerful and brutal! You have to experience that.
