one of the best experience in my life! The theatre is amazing, the museum and the shop are cool and our tour guide was so cute and kind i cant even tell u!Go and visit! Next time i'll watch a play too

Kris Tin

fantastic performance of macbeth . really lovely theatre . take a rain coat with you if you've got tickets for the area in front of the stage.

Iris Pezzali

Delightful theatre and considering the upkeep of such a wonderful place, a unique experience to celebrate the wonderful world of Shakespeare.

Basma A

Shakespeare globe theatre from the 1500's. We walked in while they were rehearsing for a new play. Excellent place for a historical visit and the tour was very informative! Have fun while you can.

Dara Mcgarry

You can usually see the cast of The Globe productions there after 10:30. The lower level is more casual and the upper deck a bit more proper dinner . Lovely food, and a view you can't beat.

David

Museum visit prior guided tour is very well done. I learned a lot about actor and theatre life during Shakespeare time. Guided tour is as well very instructive.

Lauren Keith

There's nothing like a show at the Globe, but hopping on a tour of the grounds is almost as good to soak up the atmosphere from the gallery , the ground and through your camera . http://bit.ly/2U6bzpE

Andrew C

The exhibit was much bigger than expected with extensive in-depth images, descriptions, artifacts , and more!!! The free tour was cool, mainly useful to see the theatre (without buying a show ticket)

Kaitlin

Audience choice for £5 in the yard! You get to choose the production (from three possibilities), and it’s amazing fun! Standing in the yard isn’t too bad if you lean against the railings in the back.

Greg Gordon

It's worth the trip. Plan on spending 3 hours at the theater . It was magical for a guy from Texas. I enjoyed Othello and Emilia in the same week. Next trip I'll watch 4 plays in the same 7 day period.

Anna Nickelson

Read about the history of the theater before so you can appreciate the full experience. Groundlings (Standing room) seats are £5. Get there at least 45 minutes before to stand against the stage.

Zach Stockwell

Go see a play. Standing is fun and cheap but sitting will be more enjoyable on the second visit lol

MEL BROWN STUDIOS

One of the best places to watch Shakespeare ever! Get there early to lean on the stage :)

Esra

A must visit place in London. Fingers crossed in order for the weather not to be rainy and cold :) I’ve seen A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was a great performance .

Pete Marcus

Just the best place ever. Spend £5 on standing among the groundlings - you get the best view , you get to interact with the actors, and it's the cheapest ticket available.

John Hobbs

Incredible piece of living history, the Globe is a must visit. Standing tickets (Groundlings ) are £5 and really engaging with top-quality performances (but bring a coat, no matter the forecast!)

Giacomo Mason

This place is the best. If you want to see how Shakespeare was performed in the old days, this is where you should be. 5£ standing tickets are a steal, if you are tall an young enough

Pınar Şahin

I've been there for Shakespeare Festival to watch A Midsummer Night's Dream. The atmosphere was extremely amazing. Take your beer and stand at the yard, ticket is only £5.

Andrew Marks

With hundreds of daily grounding tickets for £5 each and a tremendous selection of plays each season, going to see a show at the Globe is a must do for any Londoner.

No4emi GV

The tour around the theater is awesome, but it talks more about the UK social situation than Shakespeare itself. Still a nice way to learn some history.

Karen Melchior

For dinner after a play (or before outside in the sun), go to Tas Pide just to the right of the box office on New Globe Walk. Excellent Turkish cuisine , open late and not expensive !

Alison Roche

If you're a groundling , go all the way round the building to the back. You'll have more room and be able to grab a bench at the interval if you run out fast.

Ana Lara

Amazing setting!!! Watching a play there is something worth experiencing. If you don't want to pay much choose standing tickets (5 pounds and right by the stage!)

HeyTripster

Built-in 1599 and destroyed by fundamentalists in 1644, the theater was rebuilt 350 years later, under the leadership of Sam Wanamaker. It was re-opened in 1997 and opened its doors to visitors. Read more

HISTORY UK

The vision of American actor Sam Wanamaker, this replica of Shakespeare’s legendary theatre opened near the site of the original in 1997. It has the first thatched roof in London since the Great Fire.

Lilian D.

amazing place, love it. Different venues for different events , restaurant and a small concert room lit only by candles - friendly stuff too

Sarah Waite

Brilliant night. But recommend: Seated tickets (Shakespeare plays are long), £1 cushions (hard wooden benches ), a blanket (it gets cold at night) and the pulled pork sandwiches (cash only ).

Miwa Nagamitsu Ahlstrom

It was such an experience. The yard is fun! Can't believe you can see great shows for just £5!!

ᴡ Hay

Watching Shakespeare here breathes a whole different life into his texts (in the right hands). Experience the plays as they were meant to be experienced. Seriously cheap standing tickets at £5.

Ryan Nell

Just an incredible place to spend a fiver on a standing ticket and enjoy some fantastic theatre in the round. Better with sun and cider .

Jason H.

Charming theater - recreation of the original Globe - that is a treat no matter what the show is.

Joseph McDermott

Went to see Julius Caesar. We had seats on the upper level and actually they were pretty good! Fortunately they're built steep enough for your view not to be blocked by the person in front.

Bella La

Nice building, cool history. Loved our tour guide! Exhibition is okay! No shows in winter.

Delfin English Schools

Original Shakespeare plays in a stunning location, which used to be partially owned by the bard himself. Keep an eye on our social programme for tickets to our next Shakespeare night!

EArchitect

If planning to queue for same day ticket sales, arrive at least an hour before the play begins.

Social News Network

The Globe is authentically Shakespearean, meaning you'll be sitting on an uncomfortable, cramped wooden bench and watching a play with limited props in a building with no roof. Still, it's worth it.

Lucie Aidart

£5 a ticket to stand! It would be a shame to miss this great opportunity to see the inside of this great institution and to go back in time with a Shakespearian play! Enjoy!

Louis Vuitton

Shakespeare's Globe, a reconstruction of the legendary theatre offers standing tickets in summer in the "yard" for £5 and offer the best view of the Bard's plays. Kristin Knox, The Clothes Whisperer

Milja

FANTASTIC overall experience! i would honestly recommend it to anyone who loves a good play, Shakespeare, historic feel or just wanna try out something new and unusual.

Pam Lin

Shakespeare's Globe is the complex housing a reconstruction of the Globe Theatre . You can watch Plays at the theatre if you're a fan

Jeffrey-Ryan B.

One must see place at least once in a lifetime as a local or a tourist xx

Safia

Surprisingly a very good performance and organic . I went to see the Comedy of Errors. Bravo

Jason Hirst

Shakespeare aside, the theatre itself is wonderful with every seat guaranteed to see action at all times. Expensive yes, but certainly worth it.

M.T ????

I enjoyed the tour and learning more about Shakespeare and the history of the theatre . 8/10

Martti Ranin

Great to see the "inside" of the Globe both physically and verbally. Unfortunately our tour guide was more interested to present herself than the theatre .

Ivo Spigel

A magnificent experience! Get tickets well in advance - if you're travelling to London, buy online at least a month ahead. Keep in mind - this is an *open air* theater : you might want to bring somethi

Robert

But the 5 pound tix for the groundlings area and be sure get there early so you can find a good "leaning" spot. NB no umbrellas allowed.

Seth Anderson

Watching a performance of Macbeth was really fun in this setting. A lot of interaction with the audience.

Amazing reconstruction of the original Shakespeare's theater . Makes you feel like you're actually part of the play!
