OMG! Make an appointment online! I did, filled out and printed the form at home, and was in and out in UNDER 15 MINUTES! It was crowded and I didn't even have time to find a seat before they called me

Make an 8:30am appointment online before you go and cut the 100-deep line when it opens. Have everything filled out and BE READY when your number is called. Free wifi via Atlantic Terminal. BYO pen.

Grim and hellish, even by DMV standards. (Note: the DMV in downtown Manhattan was courteous, well-organized and quick-moving early in the morning. Probably a better choice.)

Came here on a Tuesday morning. Got in and got out in no time. Was absolutely blown away. I expected to die here.

Honestly, this was the best and most efficient DMV experience I’ve ever had (I know, low bar ). Staff were actually courteous and knowledgeable , and I was in and out in under an hour.

Fill out forms online and print first, and MAKE A RESERVATION. I needed to change my name and transfer an out of state license , and I was in and out in 20 minutes; less than 5 minutes of waiting.

My visit to this DMV was surprisingly pleasant. The staff is really nice and helpful.

Faster service than historical times. No question hey have gotten better. Despite me having to show up here twice in one day, I worked with 3 incredible and caring employees of the DMV that helped!

If you make an online appointment and have all of our forms and documents ready, you can be in & out in 20 mins. Very efficient if you follow the rules!

The folks at the lower manhattan DMV are much nicer, but if you want to come here, make an appointment ! You'll get yelled at a little no matter what, but it'll be quick

Wait, what? This place is actually alright? I mean the pews are kinda intimidating but they move you in and out so fast.

Make a reservation or you will spend all day here. Also, if you are trying to exchange an out of state license , make sure that it is more than 6 months old.

You can make reservations online. I did and I was in and out of there in 10 minutes. Shocking! I know.

Be cool and leave your ballpoint on the counter when you go, to undermine the DMV pen sales and help your fellow man.

The main info line can be long, but listen for announcements. They will tell you directly where to go to make the wait a lot shorter!

Actually not terrible as long as you make an appointment online and fill out all of your paperwork beforehand. Bring your own pen too!

I found a cell-phone dead zone while waiting in line , so be sure to finish your phone calls, texts, etc before you enter the building.

If you are there for certain things listen for the announcements.... It moves faster than you think.

Chaos is a place on the second floor of a mall in Brooklyn.

Make an appointment at dmv.ny.gov. I was in & out in 25 minutes for a name change/transfer from another state .

Bring something to do or you'll die of boredom. Try to get there early (they open at 8:30) and avoid the never-ending line

No reception inside so bring a book , and don't forget your Social Security Card for anything regarding an ID.

Nothing good here. First thing I get scolded for using the self service machines. Instead, I have to see an employee to push a button for me. Then I'm sent to a line that isn't a line ... The worst

Bring your own chair for the line . It ticks everyone else off around you. Only because they didn't think of it.
