All Guu are great for different reasons, but I love this one for the bar ! The okonomiyaki is A+ & deep fried brie if you're brave. I love the BB Chicken Salad , sounds plain, but the dressing is yummy.
Food is great here and the desserts are great too. Try the maguro with 5 sauces or salmon with 7 friends. Both are quite unique and you can't get these anywhere else. However, tea here costs money.
I come here at least once a week because I live close by. My favorites are hot sake , daily sashimi salad , crab and shrimp dumpling and maguro with 5 colour sauce . Delicious and nutritious!
First time here and I tried the scallop carpaccio , which was delicious and crisp. The ahi tuna was so tender and paired great with the garlic chips . I could have died happily after the banana tempura
The Maguro with 5 Color Sauce is my favorite dish on the menu. Soo delicious! The mushroom & cheese bibimbap is very filling and delicious. Also can't go wrong with any of the sashimi salads .
Hot stone beef bowl , price is good. Relaxing soft jazz cover songs in the background. They have lunch specials and all the way to 5pm, and happy hour
The Maguro Tataki is definitely what I always have to order. Melts in your mouth....
All Guus are great but I think this is the best location with the best bar . Anything you order is guud!
Try the Green Tea Mojito . Worth the detour! Everything we ordered was amazing.
AMAZING! Plus it's located in Gastown, the coolest 'hood in Vancouver. Make sure you try the Guud Ale !
Wonderful and welcoming staff , killer food, and amazing cocktails make this a highlight of Gastown.
Order whatever is on the daily specials list
Surprisingly this is a great restaurant in a very touristy area. Staff is friendly and the food is great.
Japanese Izakaya has small plates (similar to tapas ) and is a pretty fun experience if you've never been to one. This place does it well .
Sashimi salad is amazing. I get it every time. 10 bucks for protein and greens. Can't beat that.
Tasty dishes, but skip over the drinks. Okonomiyaki and takoyaki taste remarkably similar here, so it's probably best to just get one of them.
My favorite of all the Guu Restaurants ! Always great customer service.
Guu Tataki is a must-try. Always love the energy at Guu, and the food is always so guuuud as always.
The food was okay and the atmosphere cute , but the service was a bit spotty and it comes a bit too highly recommended to my mind. The sushi was definitely meh.
Deep-fried Bree cheese , Miso cod , Tuna Tataki .
Ebimayo is excellent, but the Kimchi Pork stone rice bowl is the bestest. CHEAP cocktails !
Try the vegetarian gyoza and the crab and shrimp dumplings ... So good.
Tuna tataki is amazing. Follow it with snow white sweets for dessert . Absolutely sublime!
Good food, good service
Get the bacon-wrapped enoki Scallop dish and the seared tuna with garlic ponzu !
They have a wide collection of Japanese liquors
The wasabi cheesecake is subtle on the wasabi flavor so give it a try. If your still not sure go with the banana tempura (with coconut ice cream ).
Mushroom & cheese bibimbap is the best
Get one of the Sashimi Bar creations, especially the Maguro with Fire Colour sauce or the Salmon with Seven Friends.
It is a delicious place!!!
Our recommendation? Popeye salad , ebi mayo and a litre of Sapporo . You can't go wrong.
The stick daikon salad is really worth your while.
I know they get busy but service REALLY dips low sometimes—waited 30 mins for beer and no glasses. When asked, they took another 20 mins and there's still soap bubbles on the warm glasses...
You'll get a friendly welcome from the staff upon arrival. Now that's service!
Their Banana Tempura is the best in town !
Love the Pink Pearl Jump~
try the lamb hamburg steak with a large bottle of sake (share with strangers, the sake not the hamburg )
Cheese does not go with these.
Skip the ebi mayo - Hapa Izakaya makes a way better version. That said, the chicken karaage here is decent.
The okonomiaki is my favorite here.
Service was terrible. Was offered last call and the bill 3 times half way through our meal and there wasn't even a line-up outside . The food is great, service is lousy.
Eat the brie cheese . I promise that you'll love it! Yummmm
Try the guuud! ale .
There are better Guus
Ate the Tataki. Dee-lish!!! I want more Guu
Rice Bowls FTW
Grab a Sake Mojito with Ramune... or three.

Don't eat here in big parties. They'll fuck up your bill/orders. Terrible service.
Go here for a lively and authentic Izakaya experience. Everything from the charcoal grill is amazing. - Johnnie M
Try the oxtail ramen if they have it on special . Also try the short ribs - Shari Tsang
Great lunchtime spot for burgers. Good beer selection, food, drinks, and atmosphere. - Bryan Clark
I LOVE intense/rich flavours. My staples flavours: black sesame and 99% chocolate noir! - Jenny S
Super cool steam clock!!! And the vibe and stores around the clock are very cool! - Billy Amp
