旧因州鳥取藩三十二万石池田家上屋敷 の門で、現在の丸の内3丁目にあった。昭和26年に重要文化財 に指定され、昭和29年に上野の国立博物館 敷地内に移築 された。江戸時代は多くあった大名屋敷の表門も、現在東京都内に現存するのは東京大学 の赤門とここ黒門の2か所だけである。
東京国立博物館 の構内から観ることが可能です。屋根は入母屋造左右に向唐破風（からはふ）屋根の番所を備えており、東京大学 にある赤門に対してこちらは黒門と呼ばれています。
【国 指定重要文化財 】...旧丸の内大名小路（現在の丸の内３丁目）にあった鳥取藩池田家江戸上屋敷 の正門です。明治時代、当時の東宮御所正門として移されたのち、高松宮邸に引き継がれ、さらに昭和29年(1954)当館に移築 されました。(東京国立博物館 HPより抜粋)

造りは四脚門・切妻造・前後軒唐破風付・銅瓦葺。五代将軍綱吉は、延宝8年(1680)五月に兄・家綱の死に伴って将軍の座につき、宝永6年(1709)1月10日に63歳で没した。この勅額門はその霊廟と共に明治維新後に解体や太平洋戦争時の東京空襲の災を免れた当時の貴重な遺構。重要文化財。 - Nao
