Milton L. Olive III, the park’s namesake, was the first African American to receive the Medal of Honor for service in the Vietnam War . He sacrificed his life to save others by smothering a grenade.

This park is a dead end if you think you can just walk/run/bike through it. It does offer an elevated , close up view of the lake .
