Like an old French brasserie but with a NOLA twist. Food absolutely delicious, from the rich, smokey gumbo to the magnificent reinvented spaghetti alla carbonara (????). Not cheap but worth every cent.
Order the gumbo of the day (whatever it may be), housemade spaghetti w/ guanciale & fried poached egg , the amazing Muscovy duck leg confit and the banana brown butter tart for dessert . Flawless menu!
Like New Orleans itself, the kitchen (under daily direction from chef de cuisine Rebecca Wilcomb) borrows from a grab bag of cultures and somehow arrives at an elegant crossroad. Read more
New American cuisine in a classic atmosphere. Great service and dishes that are a combination of local flavored and French techniques. Nominated for a Janes Beard award. Try the fresh fish selection .
This is a fantastic play on carbonara . It's one of those instances where a chef not only changes a dish, but evolves it into something greater. Just wait 'til you crack open that egg . Read more
A tip from Lonely Planet, one of of reviewers: "This may cause a riot, but Herbsaint’s duck and andouille gumbo might be the best restaurant gumbo in town ." -On TripExpert Read more
Gumbo , a must for tourist . That smokiness is unreal. Had the decadent duck led confit and was delighted. Dessert Vietnamese coffee with flourless cake .
A must stop when in NOLA! Confit is amazing if baby Brussels Sprouts are on the menu, be smart and order them, more addictive than the best potato chip or salty snack you have ever had in your mouth!
Every single bite was delicious! Highly recommend the gumbo of the day and homemade spaghetti to share. The duck confit and banana brown butter tart for dessert . Soooo good!
Attire is smart casual . Don't anticipate the fanciest presentation, but you can expect crazy delicious food, with some of the best desserts in town .
Pair the chocolate malted mousse dessert with the Old Rasputin Imperial Stout . Nicely complimenting dessert / beer pairing .
We had a lovely decadent lunch and hated to leave. Great wine list by the glass. Incredible dishes that are small so you can try a few. Favorites were the homemade pasta with egg on top.
Great Experience and excellent food. However, found an insect in one of our appetizers , they replaced it when we showed them; but they did not have the courtesy to remove that dish from our check.
Everything!! The lamb y incredible, The spaguetti With a poached egg , The rabbit entry, ribeye , pork belly
Quite possibly our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. We celebrated our second consecutive anniversary evening here. The spaghetti with egg was outstanding.
Started with a Mexican firing squad cocktail . Had a nice wine with spaghetti w/guanciale and fried poached egg . Perfect everything thoughtfully prepared.
Gnocchi and pancetta , fried oysters nice and spicy . Duck leg confit is excellent. Great food overall. I will come back for sure
Get a table outside on a cool evening and sample as many small plates as you can. Very memorable spot for a casual romantic date . +1 on cocktails as well .
The fish of the day was perfectly poached, the flourless chocolate cake was outstanding. Solid wine list and a great G&T.

Get the spaghetti for a small plate . The house-made pasta really brings it home . Overall, the service is exceptional- the best I've had in NOLA.
We had an amazing meal at Herbsaint! The duck confit with dirty rice is not to be missed
Try the spaghetti starter. It's like spaghetti alla carbonara , but with a fried poached egg . Genius.
Loved the delicate, flavorful watermelon gazpacho with crab meat ; gnocchi ; and decadent pudding cake . The fries with aioli are amazing, too.
Chocolate-pudding cake with house-made cashew ice cream is a nice finish. Big windows on two sides makes it feel like you're sitting outside on St. Charles & Girod.
Homemade spaghetti with poached egg . You must have it. Baguette ???? is also amazing.
The pudding cake was the best desert ive ever had in my lifeee. Also the lamb neck was flavorful and tender, cooked to perfection. Thumbs up

The crispy goat cannot be passed up! For dessert , the coconut custard pie is sweeter than sweet.

If you want for a meal with a major wow factor, this is the place to get it. Try the Louisiana Crab , the Arugula Salad , and the Gnocchi .
True modern bistro - fun delicious menu - great for groups too
Nice spot. Good drinks. Decent food. No standouts tho from what we tried.
Shrimp with bacon and corn arancini is a big fave -- ask for the arancini as a side dish even if you choose something else, they are spectacular!
Really excellent food and cocktails . They made a vegetarian orzo dish for me.
Schedule a reservation if you don't want to contend with the local business and law crowd. Great for a business lunch or for anyone in from out of town . Along the street car route.
Try the Gumbo of the Day no matter what it is. Best gumbo ever.
Get the Spaghetti with fried poached egg . They also have incredible bread and butter.

Great gumbo ... Very reasonable drinks and a solid atmosphere and overall service.
My best item last night: rabbit fricasse with pasta . Full flavor but unique and complex. Not your average pasta dish.

Oyster stew , rabbit pappardelle , banana brown butter tart , yum!
Try the Lamb Shoulder With Tomato Salad - Incredible. The meat fell off the bone and melted in my mouth.
Unbelievably good food! By popular review, tried the house-made spaghetti w/guinciale & fried-poached egg - awesome! And I can't get over how flavorful the shrimp & pancetta Gideon is! We'll be back!
The spaghetti and guanciale with a fried poached egg . You can't go wrong here.
