One of the best parks I've ever been too. Offers trails for running, walking and exploring! Plenty of places to stop, relax, picnic , etc. Takes a completely different pace from the rest of the area!

Andrea Hong

Beautiful ~600 acres that seems endless, designed by the same architects of Central Park (but known as their fave!). Full of gems like the boathouse, skating rink , lakes , & great bike/running routes.

Fodor's Travel

This park is absolutely gorgeous with many different trails for hiking . The Picnic House area is excellent for having a bbq - but you have to show up really early (7am) to secure a spot.

Have a dog? Off-leash hours for the entire park until 9 am every day. Best in the city . Don't have a dog? Come here before 9 am and play with a sea of dogs.

Sandra Fransen

Vanderbilt playground has a fabulous enclosed area for toddlers with a climbing structure and water feature in the summer. Excellent big "spider web" for older kids and decent shade.

Paige C

Finally got the chance to come here with my dogs for off-leash hours! It was awesome! So much open so space to run around.

Mary M Motta

LOVE the dog beach ! what a great thing for dogs to play in ???? this park is relatively clean and is well-lit once it's dark. I feel safe on the track in the evenings. I have seen cops patrol often.

This is like Brooklyn’s Central Park . Whether or not one agrees with that statement, I think it’s safe to say this park is beautiful!

Time Out New York

Walk along the south shore of the lake in fall: the sugar maples are the first trees to change color, and everything is reflected in the water, doubling the spectacle.

Hannah Parvaz

Absolutely huge. Prepare to spend your whole day exploring. It's fun to pull up a blanket and watch people playing sports , check out the botanical gardens next door too.

Zoe Carey

Love this park . Cycle, run, walk - never too crowded , and now has the summertime Smorgasbord to make it even better.

Kirill Kukuruza

The only one place in whole New York with a chestnut tree

Lauren

The off-leash hours are a dog lovers' paradise. Hundreds of happy pooches running around, while their owners chat over morning coffee . Great way to start the day!

ᴡ Reinford

best park in the city , hands down. not touristy , but you can get lost in the middle of it (in a good way). even better when celebrate brooklyn does their free shows in the summer.

Ed Clark

Few people in park today, but many dogs, making my dogs very happy. Nonstop gray sky, but mild 70F all day. Home now, sated by fine nosh from park . If I eat anymore today, it’ll be only sushi/sashimi.

Amy Shackelford

My favorite park in the city ! Aside from Grand Ferry Park (more quaint and small). If you're looking for an alternative to CP with lots of picnic spots, go!

This is home to the Brooklynites and their refuge from everyday stress. It was also designed by Olmsted and Vaux in 1867 to be different than Central Park as the people's park to relax and recreate.
