One of the best parks I've ever been too. Offers trails for running, walking and exploring! Plenty of places to stop, relax, picnic , etc. Takes a completely different pace from the rest of the area!
Beautiful ~600 acres that seems endless, designed by the same architects of Central Park (but known as their fave!). Full of gems like the boathouse, skating rink , lakes , & great bike/running routes.

Places to Run: Take your pick! Take a 3.68-mile run around the entire park , or take in serene views of Prospect Park Lake with its 1.76-mile loop. Read more
This park is absolutely gorgeous with many different trails for hiking . The Picnic House area is excellent for having a bbq - but you have to show up really early (7am) to secure a spot.
Have a dog? Off-leash hours for the entire park until 9 am every day. Best in the city . Don't have a dog? Come here before 9 am and play with a sea of dogs.
Vanderbilt playground has a fabulous enclosed area for toddlers with a climbing structure and water feature in the summer. Excellent big "spider web" for older kids and decent shade.
Finally got the chance to come here with my dogs for off-leash hours! It was awesome! So much open so space to run around.
LOVE the dog beach ! what a great thing for dogs to play in ???? this park is relatively clean and is well-lit once it's dark. I feel safe on the track in the evenings. I have seen cops patrol often.
My favorite park in Brooklyn. You truly feel like you're in a different world when you visit Prospect Park. The bandshell , the zoo , the boathouse and so much more! Come here to distress, it's worth it

One of the best parks in Brooklyn! Very huge park that houses the beautiful Botanical Garden ! Great areas of selection to have a BBQ & there are many events occurring here throughout the summer!!

This is like Brooklyn’s Central Park . Whether or not one agrees with that statement, I think it’s safe to say this park is beautiful!
Walk along the south shore of the lake in fall: the sugar maples are the first trees to change color, and everything is reflected in the water, doubling the spectacle.
Absolutely huge. Prepare to spend your whole day exploring. It's fun to pull up a blanket and watch people playing sports , check out the botanical gardens next door too.
Love this park . Cycle, run, walk - never too crowded , and now has the summertime Smorgasbord to make it even better.

The off-leash hours are a dog lovers' paradise. Hundreds of happy pooches running around, while their owners chat over morning coffee . Great way to start the day!
best park in the city , hands down. not touristy , but you can get lost in the middle of it (in a good way). even better when celebrate brooklyn does their free shows in the summer.
Few people in park today, but many dogs, making my dogs very happy. Nonstop gray sky, but mild 70F all day. Home now, sated by fine nosh from park . If I eat anymore today, it’ll be only sushi/sashimi.

Great place to ride your bike , go for a run, lay out in the sun...basically it's just a great place if you want to spend time outdoors in the city .
Spend a day enjoying public amenities (from a year-round tennis center and summer concert amphitheater to a seasonal ice skating rink ) at the sprawling, well-manicured green space.
There is so much to do in this park and lots of hidden beautiful places. You can forget you're in NYC walking around here!

I can be found in running in this park on most Sundays and any number of days per week every week. I have every detail of every inch of this park memorized as if it were my lover.
This is home to the Brooklynites and their refuge from everyday stress. It was also designed by Olmsted and Vaux in 1867 to be different than Central Park as the people's park to relax and recreate.

How can I say anything bad about Prospect Park!?! I grew up in Park Slope and this was our neighborhood park . BBQs in the Summer are always good especially with the free concerts at the Bandshell .

Go to the lake at night. Also you should know that the park has a lot of bats.

Brooklyn's largest park is a very pleasent place for a green escapade. Designed by Frederick Law Olmsted - Central Park 's designer - it hosts a Botanic Garden , a lake and various open areas .
