This is a favorite of some of our Seattle friends. Our table loved the clams (I'm not a fan, just in general). Truffle halibut was amazing. So was the salmon and the steak ! Can't go wrong.
Ivar's has plenty of locations around town , from casual fish-and-chip stands to the fancy waterfront Acres of Clams , but all of them serve up piping-hot fried fish and chips , a classic Seattle dish. Read more
The clam chowder was delicious. My king salmon was a bit overcooked which was disappointing but overall the meal was great. Incredible waterfront view makes it a must visit!
Good clam and halibut , but truffle oil was a little bit chemical tasting. Fish tacos are not traditional and strong flavored. Overall though the food is thoughtful and well prepared.
The location is ideal for this type of eatery . Also, The menu has a variety of items in a wide cost range. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if your visiting Seattle!
Ivars is a classic. Get the white chowder with a side of fries , ask for extra tartar sauce for the fries .
We had take out but was able to sit on one of the indoor benches kindly provided by Ivar. Breaded fried salmon dipped in their original recipe tartar sauce was just what I needed! ????
Seems touristy but worth it for the delicious seafood . Awesome beet salad , fantastic smoked scallop appetizer , and delicious salmon chowder .
I had the Seafood Cocktail and Combinations (halibut + king crabs ) - both were excellent dishes! Reserve time, service can be very slow.. Reserve even more time if you go for the king crab legs ....
Clam chowder , fish and ships and calamery, peaceful and nice view event if a big room . Just on the pier !
Try the chowder trio sampler, the seafood chowder was our fave. The fried prawns were tremendous. The dungeoness crab & goat cheese dip is out of this world.
Great! Take crab with goad cheese as a starter. Avoid sea cocktail as a starter since there was ketchup in it which is awful. Anyway the rest we had was unexpectedly fabulous. Try local beer too.
The seafood cocktail makes a great appetizer . The halibut is so tender and buttery. But everything is good.
Very warm and nice place, spectacular view and amazing food, really good service . Cream Brûlée ’ is very reach and creamy.
Pleasently surprised with all the gluten free choices ! Blackened cod tacos were to die for! Yummmm!
I do lake they're open till late evening. Bread bowl of white chowder is awesome. Salmon , prawns are good too. Bon appetit!
Pretty good food at reasonable prices for a touristy area along the wharf. Good selection of seafood . Just wish they used larger clams .
Had the fish and chips and white chowder , good food at a good price. The view was nice and you also get to see the fire boats at the dock.
Great place to relax and eat a bowl of clam chowder , I like the seafood chowder myself. I love the sign to encourage people to feed the needy seagulls .
We had the salmon , cod and white chowder . The cod and chowder were by far the best. So fresh and tasty!
Beautiful outdoor seating area right on the water. Excellent for sunsets !
The seminal Seattle seafront restaurant , has a family-friendly happy hour with dishes up to half off, including the clam chowder . Try the blackened Alaska cod tacos . Happy hour 3-7 M-Th, 3-11 F Read more
Fish n' chips , salmon poppers, salmon chowder , all delicious! Very spacious and relaxing by the water.
Ask for Alley first of all! She is a prime example of what good old fashioned customer service is supposed to look like! You can't go wrong with the oyster shooters and a cucumber martini !
Everytime I go it brings back a lot of good childhood memories.
Don't let the clientele or the screaming children with families fool you - Ivar's has some very delicious food. If it's on the menu, try the smoked salmon orecchiette .
Great place to grab some lunch while waiting for the ferry . Sit outside on a nice day and enjoy the beady stares of the fat seagulls .
My girlfriend's astute observations have led her to believe that the smoked salmon piece that comes with the caesar salad is larger at night than in the day. I believe her conclusions hold weight.
Salmon chowder and cole slaw pair nicely on a sunny day
Jason is great, helpful staff , great tasting food, lots of choice
Great happy hour and the waiter was awesome! He brought a piece of birthday cake for free for my husband without me having to ask!!
In back of Ivar’s at the covered outdoor eating area , looking out at the Olympics, the seagulls congregate. Have a friend feed them to capture the birds in flight with great background scenery.
Left for The Crab Pot, because it seemed like the right thing to do. So far, so good.
Watch out for Seagulls ... can't go wrong with the classic fish and chips , best tartar sauce in the world
Ah, the Seattle stand-by. Ivar's Acres of Clams keeping the city clam with chowder , fish and chips and a popular Happy Hour , too. Chefs , go lighter on the salt and oil next time. Read more
Their daily "3 pm-close" Happy Hour rocks. Check out the Oyster Shooters . I think you get 6 for $5.95 - a steal! We ate so many I lost track .
Excellent food and reserve some fries to give to seaguls , excellent opportunity for good pictures
When they ask you what you want, only give them anything you need fried. Your drink and chowder order will be taken as you approach the counter.
Great appetizer , free because our hotel recommended
Happy hour is from 3-close at the bar . Great fish tacos and oyster shooters . Service was awesome.
Sit in the lounge for happy hour after 3pm and no wait!
Chowder is a must. As is the outdoor seating !
Halibut & Chips with a little malt vinegar and Ivars hot sauce is delicious!!!
Fish n chips is awesome. Plus really great view of the waterfront
It’s a lot better than it looks from outside. Try the crab cales and the huge fried calamari platter.
The ordering system is kinda screwy. If all you're getting is chowder , push your way to the front or you'll just get passed over for everyone getting fried food!
Fish and chips are what they are known for. Order them..you can't go wrong.
The Mixed Grill Trio was fantastic! The best seafood I've ever had. ????
Sunday Brunch FTW! UNLIMITED breakfast , seafood (crab legs , oysters , shrimp , etc), dessert plus more. Haven't been disappointed yet!
Chowder , Prawns and Craft Beer ! A classic staple of Seattle!
Get the lobster! It's amazing! The seasonal dessert, huckleberry slump is also phenomenal!! - Tamara Hunter
Get the Fisherman's chowder, very tasty and refreshing. Great food. - Dominic Fong
One of the best seafood ever tasted، house salad and king salmon say it all - Tshahad
Great place for local handmade goods and foods! Right by the water. Will take a few hours to explore! - _
Really cool place, with a ton of good gifts. Prices vary depending on interest and item. Great curiosities are strewn across the store. - Jason Shellhammer
Highly recommend riding The Wheel during sunset hour. You'll get a gorgeous view of the sparkling water. Please don't skip this when you visit Seattle. All great selfies were taken here! - Phuong Nguyen
