Best and freshest seafood in Philly, hands down! The service is typically Chinese, so don't expect them to try to be your friend, but they are friendly and always bring over free dessert .
Tai Lake scares off some people with their giant frog tank in the window. They have the best seafood in Chinatown and are open really late night . [Eater 38 Member]
I have been coming here for years. Salt and pepper squid is a must, same with the veggie bean curd roll and don't forget the eggplant and scallop hot pot casserole . Everything is to die for.
Been coming here since they open over 20 yrs ago. Although they've changed owners but still have the best food n freshest seafood in Chinatown
Tai Lake is the best Chinese restaurant in Chinatown. Having the option of live frogs , eels , crabs , and fish swimming in tanks at the front of the house ensures a fresh plate of seafood . Read more
I tried eggdrop soup and assorted sea food with tofu . Both of them were delicious.
ALMOST DIED OF INTERNAL BLEEDING I went there last night and ordered Vegan Bean curd with garlic eggplant , and in my dish under a piece of tofu was a flat thin piece of a seashell
Matt Levin, chef of Square Peg, eats here on his nights off. He loves the Steamed clams w/ dried shrimp & basil . Read more
Best sea food restaurant in Philly ! Best steamed shrimp !
Better for groups than just eating as a couple. The food seems a little stuck in the 90s, like what I imagine older people consider fancy Chinese banquet food.
Best seafood in Chinatown , hands down! Would definitely recommend the live catches! :D
The best Chinese seafood in all of Philly.
This spot is the best! Fish Mau soup , Spring Rolls and Sweet N Sour Chicken , is all you need.
Fresh seafood !
Sizzling beef plate, fried frog with garlic , snails, crabs , and beef (cook it yourself). They're all yummy!
Best restaurant of Cantonese cuisine in Chinatown. Mediocre service, not nice waiters , but great seafood .
Great for late night Chinese after the bars close .
Tip your Waiter !
Everything is good here!
Good for groups , but the food was not amazing.
Late night food!!!
The food is excellent, but the service is horrid. So bad we didn't leave a tip! One entree came half an hour after the rest, with no apology or explanation. Will probably never eat here again.
Chinese seafood
Sizzling beef , snails, fried frog with garlic ! So yummmy...
Crabs better than frisco
Make sure you tip. You take your life into your own hands if you don't. Even if the food is mediocre and the service is bad and they forget to give you rice .
Lomein with lobster = the bomb! The cold plate special is epically good too! - Kevin Zhang
Salt-and-pepper wings/shrimp/squid is the way to go. Also, the fried dumplings with ginger sauce are very good. - Sean McGinnis
Fire Dragon and O Jazz are awesome, especially when replacing bubbles with jelly! There are many jelly flavors. Lychee is the best. - Babybeartree L
Fun for sake bombing. Food is pretty good too - trying stranger yakitori flavors is worth it - Emma McTague
passion fruit smoothie is super legit: two ingredients = ice and lilikoi puree. MUST HAVE - Mariko Kisada
