It's great to take friends to if you need some meat in the mix to satiate the group. The sampler was more than enough for me and my hungry sister. I'll try to swing by next time I'm in the area.
My favorite Ethiopian food in San Francisco. Sweet family operation, always friendly . Excellent Shuro, and 100% Teff (gluten free ) injera !
The veggie sampler is the most delicious thing I have had there. You can eat it with the supplied bread or a fork.
Vegetarians (and meat eaters), I highly recommend the Veggie Sampler (the Kik Ali-cha is particularly delicious) and the Ingudai Tibs (mushroom ); The chickpea and potato dish is good, but not great.
The platters are good value and great for sharing! Also really easy to eat with your hands if you choose.
Siga Tibs:Beef marinated in a red wine sauce and stir-fried with onion , tomato , garlic and berbere
great place in a very casual atmosphere . Staff were very friendly and offered suggestions. Prices were moderate and portions quite good.
If u are not a fan of the bread , ask for rice ...delish! Love the wall art !
The ordering/paying experience is a little strange and awkward for a pseudo sit-down restaurant : You order at the counter, hand them your credit card and then are handed the iPad to enter tip and sign
Arrive before noon to beat the lunch rush! Great food, but not fast, so tables are at a premium rather quickly
Not sure what to have? Try starting with the veggie sampler and some doro wot !
Try the Doro wot (spicy stewed chicken ). So YUMMY!!
Best lunch in the neighborhood ! Call ahead and order to save 10 min!
Vegetarian sampler
Decent Ethiopian food in an almost fast food style atmosphere. Nice.
Yummy Ethiopian food , but not the same experience as more authentic places
Huge vegan selection
Veggie sampler . Very tasty.
Newly opened, and one of the only restaurants open in the neighborhood on a Saturday evening. Uses Square for payment, very handy.
The vegetarian combo was OK. The paying process is awkward... Had to pay in advance, including tip. Service was slow, and the place is located where I would not recommend wondering around at night.
Coffee is strong and good. But seems not many people order it, so expect 5+ min. wait in AM.
Veggie platter is delicious!
Best ethiopian food in Bay Area!
There's a veggie combo for 2 on the menu, but they'll make a small combo for 1 if you ask.
Veggie sampler ????
Chickpea gursha 's one of the best!
Veggie combo and the mushroom tibs
Get the Gursha , spicy .
Doro wot is incredible
get the Shuro! And the all-teff (gluten free ) injera !
Be prepared to wait FOREVER. I'm writing this review as I'm waiting for food. It's already been 45 mins and there's no food in sight.
Get the veggie combo, so good. Ask the waiter what's fresh. - Barry Pousman
Lentil sambussa and vegetarian combo. More than enough for two people. Great service and amazing food. - Nedra
Seat in the mezzanine or loge are very good for sound and view. Also definitely preorder drinks as the lines are ver long. Y - Rebecca Elliott
Excellent coffeeshop. Check out the audio affogato bar upstairs. - Erik Cox
Hot food bar is legit. The veggie burger and fries are incredible. - Brady O'Connell
