Pulcino della Minerva - a statue of an elephant designed by Bernini (carried out by Ercole Ferrata in 1667), as a base for the Egyptian obelisk , the shortest of the eleven Egyptian obelisks in Rome.
The obelisk , found in the Iseum here, was erected on an elephant by Bernini, as an emblem of the wisdom of pope Alexander VII Chigi. In the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, an elephant carries an obelisk .

Wow, wow, wow. A huge basilica (may be the tallest in Rome) that stands in a spacious and somewhat less crowded square. There are some great artwork inside and the colour of the ceiling is lovely! - Merve D
