This uptown cult favorite for sushi has come to TriBeCa. The wait is well worth it once you try specials like the Futomaki, a cut-up roll with grilled eel , egg omelet , crab stick , and vegetables .
Order the salmon tomato , yellowtail jalapeño and tuna with tofu chili oil from the special non-menu nigiri list and you will be so so happy
When you're looking for creative but still insanely fresh and mouth watering sushi . Come here. You can go the classic route and be thrilled! Or omakase your way to sushi heaven.
A favorite go to date spot . Sit upstairs at the sushi bar , order the omakase and they make you each piece to order until you say stop. Delicious, expensive , interactive as you like.
Excellent and inventive sushi , but pretty mediocre service and tight quarters (you're on top of tables next to you). Pricey , but worth it for the fish .
Delectable 11-piece omakase . Esp loved the uni, cod w jalapeno sauce , salmon and tomato . Neat combos of sushi w other ingredients but some overpowered. Expensive though.
While still some of the most creative, tasty sushi in town , the UES location remains hands down the best of all the Gari restaurants .
I ordered yellowtail sashimi , the tuna & avocado appetizer , and a green salad . All was wonderful!
Omakase is the way to go. Ask for a combo of sushi and sashimi . Everything is very fresh. Sushi porn!
A bit pricey but worth it. Sushi sampler is great.
Just say "omakase " (chef 's choice) and delicious sushi will start coming. Worth it.
Get the omakase it’s legit.
Very good fish quality. Creative on the toppings and sauce
Pro: Great food. Con: Expensive for the lack of atmosphere.
Bringing your kids? The sushi chefs will adapt the omakase , no wasabi , no uni, no problem, still fabulous
Get the Omekase (Chef 's choice) and prepare to have your mind blown.
Very creative, not the traditional type of sushi bars
Try the spicy scallop roll . I hate mayo , but this is incredible
Omakase is delicious
Definitely go for the Omakase - chefs choice
For lunch , the sushi bar closes at 1:30, while the restaurant closes at 2:15.
Can't go wrong with Gari
Tuna assortment
Average sushi for very high prices - wrong rice temperature (too cold), average quality fish (nothing melts in your month)
Perfect japanese food !
Omakase ????
Why hasn't anyone mentioned the cake ?!
Rushed. Overpriced. Upsold left and right. Decline in quality.
Don't eat here. Waste of a lot of money.
Muito boa qualidade, vale a pena!
