After spending the afternoon around Trafalgar Square & the National Gallery , consider resting your tired feet over some quintessential British scones (with clotted cream ) & tea
I always bring my friends here before/after seeing exhibitions around. I had a fish pie and beef burger today and both were quite nice. Warm apple juice was also tasty.
They have a great variety on their menu catering to vegetarians and have fresh veg/fruit juices . It's also a beautiful restaurant .
Their cake high tea offering does not come with tea , although it was listed next to the scone set that does. Take note
Easier to get a table than at the national dining rooms but the same food. Try the Sunday Roast -- really tasty with a generous serving of meat and great service.
The best winter stews at £4.80 perfect for work lunch and the place itself is really nice.
House salad looks less than inspiring on the menu but is utterly delicious. And take a carafe of the Provencale rosé while you're at it.
Delicious Mini Magoo porridge with generous portion of berries . V good service and you can linger without being hassled
There are two sections: the standard counter service and then the table service next door. Both are around the same price so give table service a go for a nicer experience
Really good food. Sandwiches , salads & pastries . There is a small room off to the side between the cafe and restaurant which is a little quieter .
Keep in mind that the Linguine dish is hot, very hot ⚠
Tasty breakfast and £10 dinner menu . But stay away from the coffee .
Great breakfast pastries !!
The best winter stews ..
There is no Wi-Fi here, use the National Gallery guest network. Password is picasso2014
Salad with pear ,root and cheese is wonderful:) it's a pity that's too less:(
Staff ask you not to use laptops here
Peaceful and surprisingly off the beaten track
Great selection of cakes
They're open till 11pm, but food isn't available after 7. It is a quiet spot for a chat late at night.
Banana cake is worth a try!
The haddock , salmon pie it's fantastic!
place almost empty - told we were only allowed to sit if we ordered food. Used to recommend this place to everyone - can't say I will continue after the implementation of this ridiculous rule
Very disappointed in the overall afternoon tea experience. The menu clearly stated it serves Peyton and Byrne but I was given a pot of Twinings tea .
Rather than wait forever for your food, nudge them every ten minutes. Hunger is no joke
No vegan mylks. Bit of a surprise.
Good lunch !
Ok, to be fair , they acknowledged the mojito was "awful" and remade it. Hopefully second round will be better!
Polystyrene cups and Twinings tea . Hmm.
Cream tea here are lovely
Don't have the hot chocolate . It's awful!
Bad. Service is super slow, the pear mojito is salty! Really not worth it.
Rigtig god mad; omgivelse er ikke så spændende
Wide range of collections - B
well not so much design here but lovely classic paintings...must see if you like that sort of thing : ) - Nod 'n' Wink Designs
Transient coffee bar tucked in a corner of the gallery. Feels more like it should be in a Tube station. Best go elsewhere. - Shaun Weston
Nice Environment, salads, vegetables and soup of the day. Try the dinner with Music - Nelson Ahmar
Smashing informal cafe on Level G in the Barbican Centre. Pick from one of three hot dishes, salad bar, and daily soup choices. The cakes are incredibly tempting! - London Symphony Orchestra
Obviously one of the best art collections in the world. Well curated and displayed, lately many highly popular interesting exhibitions. - Charles Polák
My favorite area, beautiful location. Close to Leicester square, and several great food stops. - Chelsea Bradley
The art is excellent. Usually quieter than National Gallery. The cafe is also a good meeting place. - Mia B
