Grab a seat at the bar of James Beard Award–winning chef Gabriel Rucker’s kitchen to watch cooks turn out meat-centric platters including squab, served here with kumquats and charred marrowbone.
Make reservations well in advance and get the chef 's tasting menu . Each meal ends with a foie gras ice cream puff which is unexpectedly delicious.
Real artistry here, but tilted towards the front end of the menu rather than the main courses and desserts . Superb truffle dumpling and other joys to start. Namesake pigeon was disappointing.
7 course tasting is the way to go. Interestingly, the meal does not involve any bread courses. 5 savory, 1 cheese , 1 sweet - absolutely no need for the wine pairing . Get a pFriem beer or wine instead.
BEST. DINNER . EVER. We got the 7 course tasting menu and it was worth every penny. You need to get the foie gras ice cream puffs because they're out of this WORLD!
One of the more expensive restaurants in Portland, but also one of the best. Chef Gabriel Rucker won last year's James Beard Northwest Award and the James Beard Best Rising Star Chef Award in 2011.
Chef Gabriel Rucker is one of our favorite chefs ! If you don’t do a tasting menu , make sure you order the Beef Cheek Bourguignon and the Garganelli!
Had a stunning birthday tasting menu with my family and everything was perfection from the service, wine pairing , and menu created by the chef . My daughters hamburger was outstanding too!
You’ll find pickled onions on your burger and foie gras in your profiterole, but also some killer fried green tomatoes on your pork belly and a really good chicken-under-a-brick. [Eater 38 Member] Read more
They were really accommodating to all the allergies at the table. The angel hair pasta was incredible. BUT it feels a bit past its prime
Do NOT leave without trying the Foie Gras Profiteroles with Caramel Sauce and Sea Salt...MANDATORY (this coming from someone who doesn't even really love desert )
If you get the 7 course menu you will leave fat and happy. And tipsy, if you opt for the wine pairing . Oh, and sit at the bar overlooking the kitchen.
Outstanding service and preparation. Classic for a reason, particularly the legendary foie gras profiterole!
Loved the food, but the ambience on a weekend night is all off. There is a massive base coming off the nightclub upstairs that makes the experience very unpleasant
get the chef 's tasting menu to try all of their signature dishes. if you're not feeling that, def get the duck confit and foie gras profiteroles
Starters are stronger than mains. If they're serving the rabbit pie with mustard ice cream you must get it!
The 7 course tasting menu was one of the best meals I've had in my life.
The seven course tasting menu is amazing, but too much food - either go really hungry and skip the bread , or try the five course tasting menu .
Get the tasting menu but expect to leave really full. The seared foie gras and foie gras ice cream are both amazing.
Great burger...pickled onions are perfect on it. Mashed potatoes with the beef is a new addition and a great one. Summer of Riesling is a good deal . All three are tasty.
Worth the wait. Flavorful, inventive food and stellar service. Shawn the maître d was so helpful to us out of towners. I hope we can see an offshoot in NYC!
Excellent service and very good food, but the dishes tend to be overwrought. Too many elements competing for attention on the plate. The desserts tho are simple, decadent standouts.
The duck with hummus was the best thing we had here, and the hazelnut cake with rhubarb was the best dessert . The foie gras profiterole was only okay.
The 7 course meal is a lot of food. It’s amazing food but it’s a lot.
The non-alcoholic pairing with the chef 's tasting menu is excellent.
This was the best food I have had in a long time! To die for! Everything was flawless! The chicken , summer "thanksgiving" both were phenomenal!!

It’s a French restaurant where you can watch the best chef in the PNW do his mastery. Yeah, go.
Don't order the 7-course tasting. It was gratuitous - portions too large, no rhythm to courses, only meat and starch. We sent back half eaten plates every dish. I would go back for an à la carte meal
Please don't leave without ordering, finishing and thinking long and hard about the Honey Bacon Apricot Cornbread w/Maple Ice Cream . If you snag one of those elusive burgers , thank your lucky stars. Read more
Damn amazing!!!! If you're in portland don't skip this place. Try the tasting menus
They serve the catch of the day garnished with bottarga . You won't get the same umami flavor any other way. Its hard to find and worth it!
Grab a counter seat if possible.
Keep it simple and delicious. Go for the tasting menu if this is your first time.
Very cool place its has a small bistro feel but with very high end food on par with many 3 star Michelin restaurants
Late night and limited-edition burgers are so popular! Gabriel Rucker, of Le Pigeon, only serves ten burgers a night. You can order one in advance when you make a reservation .
The tasting menu with wine pairings was amazing! No better way to do it!
Duuuuuude foie gras profiteroles with caramel + sea salt ftw
Try the 4-6 course tasting menu ! It is seriously the best I've seen in a while. Visited from Seattle, and we didn't want to leave!
Three words: foie gras profiteroles. Eat them!
Everything was delicious: foie , wine , fish and creme brûlée .
Brisket with strawberry rhubarb sauce and slaw ! OMG so good!
A superb dining experience on every level. You can not eat here once, there are too many items that must be tasted!!!
Tasting menu . Hands down. One of the best places in Portland.
Try the pigeon . . . you won't regret it.
Chef Chris DiMinno eats here on his nights off. He loves the Honey bacon apricot cornbread w/ maple ice cream . Read more
Intimate and cozy dining room with an open kitchen .
The Foie Gras Profiteroles are sinfully amazing. Do yourself a favor and order them!
