Amazing huge pub ,nice staff , great service, food and drinks.Need to go there in the summer time on the terrace at the first floor, the view up there is amazing.Really enjoyed
Great pub grub and amazing view from the terrace if you can actually find a space. Grab a spot indoors in the many nooks and crannies though and enjoy great food, friendly service and fab atmos!
Good location, cool pub . A little touristy , and the food is the standard chain pub food . But nonetheless it's a cool place, especially if you have a nice day to enjoy the top deck or sprawling patio .
Great outdoor space with view of the Thames . Outside bar in the summer too. Unfortunately it is ALWAYS busy when there's an inkling of a warm and sunny day.
A little touristy but a lovely historic traditional pub , loads of seating inside, terrace and patio out the front with an outside bar in the summer. Reasonabley priced food.
Great location to grab a pint, overlooking the Thames . Apparently there's a lot of history to the place, unfortunately I don't know any to share with you haha
Pretty crowded , but good pub grub , fast service and decent prices. Vegetarian options are alright. The camembert & beetroot pie had a soggy bottom and could've done with less cheese , more vegetables .
No need to look at the menu here as this tip is always valid: eat the roast of the day. You can have it outside in the summertime and get acquainted with the hungry seaguls swooping the river Thames .
Lovely place with loads of outdoor space and borough market just around the corner. Food is a little £££ but it's in central and On the Thames .
Sat at tables outside Ethan Hunt congratulates Luther Stickell on being reinstated from the disavowed agent list and bids him goodbye in Mission: Impossible (1996).
The Anchor is the last of the original 22 licensed “inns ” (tavern/ brothel/ restaurant/ nightclub / casino ) of Bankside’s red light district heyday in the 1600s. A tavern has stood here for 800 years.
Lovely scenery, great for taking tourists around and very typical pub with friendly staff . Fish & chips is quite good!
Very lovely place! With the terrace and the patio outside on the Thames . Only downside is that is very expensive !
The lasagna were amazing and the fish & chips really good.
Great riverside views , if you ignore the railway bridge . Good seating area and standard tourist trap fayre.
I think everything would be good, but check their Classic Pub Dishes and Sunday roast !
A little touristy but a nice way to spend time by the Thames while walking around the Millennium Bridge/Bourough Hall/Westminister area.
Lovely, friendly place with delicious Fish and Chips !
This 18th century pub stands on the site of an earlier inn used by playwrights and actors of The Globe theatre . From here Samuel Pepys watched the Great Fire of 1666 destroy the city on the far bank .
Pretty standard chain pub food but you go for the location and the drinks. Not a bad place for a neutral to watch a match and get a quick bite but don't expect amazing food.
Outside seating is fantastic for a first date. The view over the Thames and st Pauls is breathtaking
Great place for bating tourists . Stand in the upper bar and speak with gusto about the wonders of Sutton, and why every tourist should visit. Then extol the virtues of Romford. Let's change behaviours
According to the Clink Museum , this place used to be a "Stewe house"... What we now call Brothels! Park street was known then as dead man's place. I wonder why that didn't catch on ????
I love the pilots u get at the bar , that get shaken when your order is ready! Great view on Thames , classic british food!
Been there twice during my 4 day stay. Super chill and has some great beers . Food is just meh.
Get some lunch from Eat and sit on the pub wall if it's a nice day, last time I had lunch here the jacket potato was half raw
Great choice of ales and snacks , great view of the river !
Good atmosphere. Fish a little bland but had great crunch!
Very, very, very busy when the sun comes out. If you can bag a seat, good for you. However the 3 deep queue at the bar (where there are only 2 slow staff serving) is off putting. Better places to go
23 February: On Samuel Pepys ' birthday, drink in the pub where he watched London burn. As the Great Fire raged he escaped by boat & described in his diary how he took refuge in 'a little alehouse'.
Great pub , if not a little touristy . The fish and chip shop inside is brilliant and the terrace bar is lovely.
Quite reasonable (8.50 for 2 drinks) for London lovely location with history to boot. Sit upstairs outside for views of St. Pauls'
Tasty wings , bread with cheese
Amazing huge pub ,nice staff , great service, food and drinks.
Ok, great place in downtown but the food is nothing special and one English ALE between European giants is really sad..
Good, standard chain pub food and beer . Nice stopping point if your feet are tired.
Huge pub . My girlfriend was advised to order pepper vodka instead of tequila . Don't make the same mistake!
Taylor Walker burger is small but good!
Great views across the river , good beer
Great pub outdoor view is gorgeous.
Very disappointed as I was recommended to visit the place and although the venue was lovely, we had to wait for nearly two hours for our food and ended up asking for a refund as it never arrived.
Fish 'n' Chips : try the small - it's large enough ;-)
Amazing peace amazing view and the staff is very kide
Very good fish and chips . Good value for money .
Awesome place to watch the footie if you're a foreigner looking for a true london vibe.
Fish and chips are awesome !
Touristy but fun. Good beer and fish and chips
Great beers
Classic pub near Thames with St. Pauls view .
Traditional & cozy
Spare good amount of time if you are a fan of contemporary art because this place has a massive and great collection! Dont miss the temporary exhibitions, though visiting all will take more than a day - Pinar E.
Great choices: dosa, curry, koshari street, amarettis from bread ahead. almond cookies from cinnamon tree. - Ingrina Carson
amazing place, love it. Different venues for different events, restaurant and a small concert room lit only by candles - friendly stuff too - Lilian D.
