Excellent Roti Canai and Clay pot chicken . The prawn Mee is also awesome. For those that do not like seafood broth, avoid this dish. You can request them to also charge your smartphones.
Get their Roti canai - the Roti is huge & super crispy ! Also get their hainanese chicken & chicken rice ! Their beef scrambled egg chow fun is delicious, too! Their chow kueh teow has a nice kick to it
Solid Singaporean food in Soho. Get the roti prata , Hokkien char mee, prawn mee , chicken rice , and wash it all down with a Tiger Beer .
As a Malaysian, it doesn't get better than this in Manhattan. The prawn mee , assam laksa and char koay teow are great for lunches . For dinner , get the sambal stingray (!!!) and sambal kangkung.
The coconut pudding is great for coconut lovers. Huge amount & the meat was thick & refreshing so save room at the end. Get their roti telur as an appetizer .
Roti canai was more flaky/crispy than normal stretchy tissue. The rojak was more sweet than spicy . The nasi lemak was standard but the asam laksa was awesome. Good and cheap Malaysian food !!
As everyone says, Roti is amazing. Prawn Mee was meh (and I like seafood ). Squid appetizer (like 5th one down) was actually really good ! Sweet and savory. As was Beef Rendang . Cash only .
The food here is so, so good. Plenty of menu items to choose from. Recommended: spicy seafood fried rice , Haianese chicken , and to start, the roti canai .
Pretty good malay food. Tried the ginger duck and the shrimp with eggplant . Duck was super soft and with a nice texture. Not much shrimp with the eggplant , but it was tasty.
You'll have to trek north of Canal to find Nyonya, but it's worth twice the walk. Best Malaysian in Chinatown by a long shot, and one of very few to serve fresh coconut water straight from the source.
Yummy malay food at affordable price . Beef curry , chicken soup and roti all tasty and good size portion. Cash only !!
Fantastic overall. There’s a vast menu of choices. Tried 10 different dishes and they were all good.
The roti !! It was fantastic. The food proportions are decently generous. I really liked the green beans
Comes close to straits style food. Spiciness is tuned to the American palate though so 0.5/10 for Singaporeans/Malaysians.
I've *finally* found a decent roti in NYC -- rich and buttery, flaky but stretchy! The mee goreng was not bad either, so I'd happily recommend this place to any visitors from south Asia / Oceania
A variety of Malaysian and other Asian-inspired dishes are served at Nyonya, such as the Hainanese Chicken , Roti Canai , and an excellent Curry Noodle Soup .
Yum! Roti canai , Malaysian iced coffee is a must. If you come with a group, order full size hainanese chicken with chicken broth rice as a side!
Roti Canai ! Beef Rendang ! Coconut Rice ! Great tasting Malaysian food at reasonable prices. If there’s a line outside, it’s worth the wait. Cash is king! Stop by an ATM before eating here.
Quite possibly in my list of top 10 fave NYC restaurants . My go to dishes are Hainese chicken over rice (white meat only), Seafood Tom Yum noodle soup and Salted Fish with Chinese broccoli .
Roti Canai , Hainanese Chicken with Chicken Rice and Kang Kung Belacan to hit all flavors and food groups. Stays true to what I grew up eating in Singapore.
Try our favorite version of beef rendang . The tender beef is simmered low & slow in a fragrant mixture of clove , cinnamon , lemongrass & coconut milk . It’s one of our #100best dishes & drinks of 2011. Read more
Simple place with decent food and full of asian people (that is a good sign for an Asian restaurant ????)
Lunch special can't be beat! It's $6-8 for soup and an entree. The service is friendly and fast and the food is delicious.
So many good things here. Oh!!! Get: roti canai , Malaysian ice tea or ice coffee , young tofu , abc... This place never disappoints and price is also good. :)
the beef rendang (Malaysian beef curry ) is brisket-like in texture and really really tasty. at lunch it's $6 including rice . yes please.
My go-to Malaysian place. Get the roti canai , egg and seafood flat noodles with the brown sauce , and beef rendang .
As close to authentic south East Asian food as possible in New York City , make sure you get beef rendang and kangkong belachan ✌????️
This place was packed with people.! I got the NYONYA curry chicken and Malaysia style shrimps and okra . Good food! I definitely wanna go back again!
Every dish here is incredibly delicious, but the roti canai , char kway teow noodles , and the crispy golden squid are essential eating!!!!!
Get the Chow kueh teow and kang kung belacan ! First time here, and can't wait to come back to try the rest of the menu.
Beef curry ($6.75) is just a smaller portion of the beef rendang ($15) - better for a solo diner . Add a roti to round out the meal.
Been coming here for years and the roti canai is still my favorite thing ever. My other go to dish is asam laksa but that's an acquired taste. Cash only
LOVE this place! The hainanese chicken and chicken broth rice , and duck broth soup noodles are amazing.
Serious Eats Top 10 Vegan spot in NYC. That means: this place is worth checking out http://newyork.seriouseats.com/2014/03/kenji-top-10-vegan-bites-nyc.html
Great food, great price, and its a perfect spot to try something new and tasty. The shrimp puff was definitely delicious.
I think this one is better than its sister restaurant in Brooklyn. Pretty cheap , good Malaysian food . I really like the Hainanese chicken . :) Saigon is also across the street!
:D I enjoyed this place! I made a video review if you would like to see the food for yourself: <aclass="entity url"rel="nofollow" href="https://youtu.be/pw7uPn24nFY?list=PL-Dq_PEJ5z4QMeYQyqQPpXzeIFgtXaRbI"target="_blank" data-sig="JYHz5OqWYBX0Gs0Qk/Mbrww/euM=" onmousedown="fourSq.ui.OutgoingLink.mousedown($(this), event)" data-source="tip-text">https://youtu.be/pw7uPn24nFY?list=PL-Dq_PEJ5z4QMeYQyqQPpXzeIFgtXaRbI</a>
The bread and curry starters and beef rendang are rich and delish. Also love coconut pudding .
Love this Penag restaurant . Curry yong tao foo, crispy fired baby squid , roti canai , beef rendang ... all delicious. Read more
Amazing Malaysian! The curry stews could double for Laksa . Very close to the real deal. (Yes, I've been to Malaysia.)
Get the lunch special . Great value . Mango chicken and rice was amazing. Fast service ! I would definitely recommend this place/come back here.
Roti Canai , Prawn Mee , Satay , and Nasi Lemak -- you can't go wrong with any of these gems
Beef curry was great with just a little spice. Huge space and clean . Good service .
This place rocks my socks. Fresh coconut . Food is delicious. Appetizers are a must. I pretty much tried them all. And beef rendang is bomb.
My staple meal here is a fresh watermelon juice , roti canai , their kang kung w/ shrimp paste , Nyonya House Special jumbo prawns & Hainanese chicken w/ rice .
One of the few places to get Malaysian food in Manhattan but I was not impressed. Vegetarians will be hard out to find anything good here.
Throughout the years, they've become more accommodating to vegetarians . Amazing dishes! Get the ABC and hunt for the palm seeds.
Do not miss the coconut pudding or roti canai . What's terrible is though there's literally one vegetarian option in the three page menu they have and wouldn't be surprised if it had some fish sauce
Best Malay cuisine in Manhattan. It's Michelin, and it’s CASH ONLY !
One of the best Roti Canai I had! Make sure you order one.
Best belachan kang kung in the city. Nasi lemak was smaller than usual but still good. Ginger lemon martini is yummy, too. - MrsCorkster
A little bit of everything on the menu! Fried buns with condensed milk dip so good - Cynthia Lin
Straight out of italy! Excellent aperol spritz and gelato! - Kaitlyn Watson
Ice cream! Lychee is a favourite but they also have maple bacon ice cream if you feel adventurous! - Lucky Bimolaksono
If you love rice pudding and want to try other flavors of rice pudding, this is for you! Fun, clean atmosphere. The staff will let you sample some interesting flavors. Give it a try!! Arroz con leche! - Stella Ricci
