Favorite Malaysian-Thai restaurant around union square. Roti canai is a must. Expand your palate and try the Malaysian curry served with squid , okra , eggplant and tomatoes in spicy yellow coconut milk

Tara

Got the Roti Telur, dumpling fritters , night market noodles and nasi lemang, all washed down with some Singha. Such a flavor trip! Loved everything and definitely going back for more.

Guha Arunkumar

Went here for the first time yesterday. The roti canai is excellent. The spicy night market noodle was brilliant! Ask for the hot sauce . Loved the food, the whole ambience, and choice of music (A+)!!

Ms Helene

Nyonya vegetables were fresh & crispy but best with sriracha , $13 with white or brown rice . Red curry was medium spicy with tofu and eggplant , $13. Both recommended for a quick meal pre movies .

Greg Tan

The Assam Laksa is great (packs some ???? tho, so be warned!). Decent Malaysian food and relatively inexpensive . Get the roti , the char koay teow and the Teh Tarik (“pulled tea ” with condensed milk )

Danley Hu

Curry Laska was amazing! I love eating spicy but usually cannot handle it! But this was amazing and just the right amount of heat for me! Nice comfortable environment for dinner with old friends.

Village Voice

Laut offers laksa , a traditional spicy noodle soup in both curry and asam styles, water spinach heavy with chile and shrimp paste , sotong goreng (fried squid with chile), and crisp roti canai . Read more

Wesley Bliss

One of the few really quality Malaysian restaurants , featuring curries , sandwiches , noodle dishes , good imported beer , and drinks. Desert should boot be missed here either. Sweet coconut rice .

Carol

Delicious food! Gotta try their soft shell crab with steamed bao buns and laksa noodles . I don’t recommend the coconut pudding . Not that flavorful and textually is like jello

P J

Love this place. I had the teh, roti canai and night market fried rice . All vegetarian , all fantastic

Joyce

standard fare of staple Malaysian food ! Great atmosphere and friendly staff (that also seemed super busy and wanted us to finish quickly, but super friendly !!). Good assam laksa and roti canai .

Mara Lecocq

Got the Mi Goreng chicken noodles and it was amazing. Simple flavors but nailed well . Definitely coming back to try the whole menu.

Heena

Love their roti canai and coconut juice . Lunch special is great. Tried veggie tom yum soup . Veg spring rolls okay. Massaman curry was great. Get reservations if going for lunch .

Katie Congleton

Start with the Roti Telur and the Dumpling Fritters , followed with the Chili Crab and Char Kueh Teow (add shrimp !) - the most delicious meal and great date spot

Diane Jean-Mary

The drunk man noodles are delicious but they only had half of the cocktails on their drink list available and they rushed my party out of our reserved table to make room for the next reservation .

Serious Eats

Some of the city 's best Malaysian food in a slightly upscale but easygoing setting.

Justin Williams

The beef rendang was amazing. The sambal dishes also. The Roti Jala wasn't so good as the roti was more of a lattice and hard to handle. The tofu skewer also not a great choice as Deep fried tofu

Sheen

Drunk man noodles and hainan roast chicken were great! The mee goreng , night market noodles and nasi lemak were a little meh but I could try again. The best thing was the tandoori satay skewers !

Jeff Petriello

Ask for the night market fried rice extra spicy . 2 chilis is a lie! So good though. Cool off with a cane juice too.

Meg Lewis

Best Thai food in NYC! The Drunk Man is incredible. Staff is very friendly and the food comes out very fast!

Theresa Roldan

Spiked Thai iced tea and a damn good menu! I've had a majority of appetizers and they do not disappoint. If you're looking for something spicy , make sure they know.

Russell Hirschorn

Laksa and Rendang , something a little different from the east than your standard thai and vietnamese.

Elizabeth Burstein

Loved the thom kha soup . Had the national dish which was the sampler and not a huge fan

MrsCorkster

Best belachan kang kung in the city . Nasi lemak was smaller than usual but still good. Ginger lemon martini is yummy, too.

Hana Slevin

Our server was the most enthusiastic waiter I've ever encountered. Ha. He was very funny and sweet. The Massaman Curry was very good. Overall good experience!

Mohit

The thai iced tea is really good. Green Curry is different. You gotta have the Roti Canai . I would definitely go again.

D C

Roti , hakka chili fish , drunk man noodles are ????. The "famous" dishes (i.e. hainanese chicken , nasi lemak , beef rendang , ultimate curry laksa ) are disappointing / or are better done elsewhere.

Laura De Valencia

Probably one of the best Asians i've had in manhattan. Drunken noodles , steamed dumplings and the halibut were fantastic. A must try!

leo kyiv

Curry laksa is good but not as delicious as they make in in Nyonya in Little Italy

Margot Mazur

That green curry is absolutely packed with flavor. Don't miss it.

Wen Seng Lie

The menu is regular asian fusion restaurant , but the food are great. Pick anything and you can't go wrong

Maya Jimenez ????

Best southeast Asian food in town , hands down. Any of the rice dishes are delicious.

Mike M

Nasi Lemak is so delicious ! And the Curry Laska!

Lisa NYCnonprofit

Try the flounder .. the best I've tasted.. large plate. Fish deboned cooked just perfct with. A special looked like shredded mat on top. Mango rice for dessert

Tom Nguyen

Super friendly waiters , awesome food. Don't forget to get your free shrimp puffs when you check in !

Anne Lac

The secret is out now that Laut was just awarded 1 Michelin star . First ever star for a malaysian restaurant . Much more crowded than I've ever seen it here, so be sure to make a reservation now.

Priyanka Padode

Free shrimp puffs when you check into foursquare as a newbie. You get only the appetizer or the dessert so choose wisely!

Christina Ward

The roti was delicious. The classic Malaysian dish had some bitter flavors that are an acquired taste.

Andrea Barrezueta

Tastiest green curry I’ve had in a long time. Miss living close to Lauren!

Colin Lee

Excellent chicken rice (slightly roasted) and delicious jasmine rice

Jonathan Gottfried

Cheap , delicious Malaysian lunch specials . I love the Mee Goreng

Zeba Siddiqi

Roti canai , hakka chili chicken , massaman curry ! Do go for their lunch combo meals

Mike Chau

Try the Yee Mee - Thin egg noodles with mushrooms , bean sprouts , eggs , carrots , snow peas and sesame oil with soy sauce . And beef .

Brian

This restaurant made me think of my amazing meals in Malaysia (but not because the food was good here).

Adam Shuv

Great curry massaman , friendly service . Num Num.

Siobhán

Nice menu and lovely atmosphere so small and with a dedicated audience.

Lulu Peng

Service is really good and there's a huge selection for lunch specials :) filling and pretty flavorful

elizabeth muse

Roti Canai is a must. Drunk man noodles were great but I like a little more spice

Owen Iverson

The massaman curry is great and the chicken is some of the softest I've ever had.

Hillisha Haygood

The Roti Canai was amazing!
