The food here is great. What I love though is the extensive beer garden which doesn't feel like you're in London at all! Great for a drink/lunch after a romp across Kenwood or the Heath .
Beautiful Tudor era pub built on the highest point in London. Mention in Pickwick papers & Dracula . Great real ales .
Cozy place for a Sunday roast . I had read several reviews about Spaniard's Sunday roast and was expecting a bit more, but all in all, a good experience if you are around Hampstead area.
Had the fish and chips which was really fresh and good! The ham hock was very tasty. Classic British pub with nice garden
One of my secret spots in London. Excellent outdoor vibe combined with a good Sunday roast . Don’t forget about the dessert , brownie and cheesecake are the highlights.
Perfect place to escape London madness. Mostly locals. Authentic pub feel, mainly because it's an authentic pub . Excellent food and the desserts are amazing.
Great beer garden . Delicious Sunday roast ! It gets really crowded so good to book a place in advance!
Fantastic Sunday roast and excellent for a celeb spotting! On one Sunday afternoon a minor royal, an essayist and a crooner were all spotted!
good ales , good food and amazing place. It's hard to believe you'r still in London and not in the middle of english countryside... the huge patio is the perfect place ehere enjoy a beer in summer time
Cosy, rustic and dog-friendly pub - they even have their own menu and spa (well , sort of). The roast chicken dinner on a Sunday is to die for.
Classic old (really old) London pub with a great Sunday roast . make sure you book ahead (online) to avoid a long wait
Gorgeous beer garden with expected food menu - your usual burgers & fish and chips . On the expensive side given the fab location.
Perfect place for a pint after going for a stroll in the Heath . Dog friendly and a massive, cosy beer garden .
A very sweet pub with friendly staff and great food. Try scotch egg and half chicken with fries ;)
Great food and a very impressive wine list too. Good beer garden .
Nice garden , good food. We ordered food at 2.45 pm we got it at 4.15pm, very busy on Sunday. I would anyway go back again.
Great for a Sunday Roast in good weathers. Has a big garden to enjoy and lots of tap beer .
One of the best Sunday roasts in London. The whole roast chicken can feed up to 4-5 people.
Try the potted caramel and the house red . Apart from one excellent waiter , service was a shambles and the Sunday roast was average and overpriced. Try the red lion and sun in Highgate instead
Fantastic outdoor seating area . Amazing fish and chip .
Oasis when you climb out that forest ... Highly recommended!
Politely ask the Barman and he will show you the scrapbook that documents the ghost sighting and hauntings at this 16th century pub , including the highway robber Dick Turpin.
Great sunday roast , esp the chicken
Sampler board is a good pile of meat to share for 2
Great pub w our door seating and super dog friendly !
Awesome beer garden , good choice of beers , feels like a real pub
One of the best roasts I've had. Really cozy pub too.
With peanut butter & banana chews, cheese snacks and beef bones there is something for even the fussiest mutt – just be careful that wagging tail doesn’t send your drink flying. Read more
Great gastro pub and beer garden on the edge of hampstead heath (park ), loads of character and history here
Was once great. Regular customer for 5 years, never again. 40% price increase on food in the past 2 months and this is what you get for £14. Absolute Joke. Too many other great places worth the money.
Loved the pumpkin soup ! Great autumnal hangout after a stroll through mushy leaved Heath . Love the old style decor and friendly service . Nice one.
Beautiful old pub and restaurant . Worth the journey!
This historic pub on the site of a tollgate was once the haunt of highwaymen , who when caught were hanged nearby. The pub appears in Dickens’ Pickwick Papers and in Bram Stoker’s Dracula .
Huge beer garden , and really nice inside too
28 December: It was built in 1585, and was for many years a tollgate inn , forming the entrance to the Bishop of London's estate. The tollgate remains and traffic is reduced to one lane outside.
Nice Garden ! Food average, great pilsner in the sun!
Delicious food and really lovely beer garden .
If you can tolerate the noise of all the children here, it's a lovely spot. Good food
Pretty rubbish BBQ . Very overcooked burgers . Everything else very average, with above average prices. Nice garden so come for drinks and eat elsewhere before or after.
Legendary Hampstead boozer with a great beer garden .
A good place for a drink but if you want dinner , it might be a bit too crowded .
Love the wine list here along with some really good food - no highwaymen tho, can be difficult to park
Very busy, free parking , lots of beers . Food priced accordingly, pretty expensive . Great Pub .
Fish n chips . Camden pale ale . Sitting in the garden .
Great venue but pricy food
Go for the 21-day aged West Country roast beef . Truly amazing.
Features in Bram Stoker's Dracula - Van Helsing goes for a drink here!
Unforgettable taste !
Really cool space but the food didn't quite live up to it.
Fantastic food. Book or suffer a long wait
great pub food, best I've had in London, and good selection of Belgium beets to boot - Chico Charlesworth
@LuckyHampstead is awesome. Great indoor / outdoor seating. Great food too & serve a great pint of @CamdenBrewery Beer in nice big glasses - Med Bükey
Lovely pub and great Sunday roast, but book a table in advance; it gets busy! - Jacob Domarus
I love this place. Great views of the city or if you want, to get away from it. You can really get lost in this park which makes it really great - Kamaria Mion
Historical place worth visiting when you’re in the heath! They have a great painting collection. - Kornelija Maceviciute
My favourite pub in London. Great food, friendly staff, and great atmosphere. Perfect for a lazy Sunday. And dog friendly too! - andre chow
