Wailua Falls

The lookout is great and easily car accessible but if you are up for the climb there is a short but steep descent that takes you right underneath the falls from the lookout point. 100% worth it!

The trail down is a little bit steep and muddy, but not dangerous. There is also a rope to find a way and help you out. At the end, you can take a cool and refreshing swim in a pool under the falls :)

Pretty nice waterfalls ! You can drive all the way up to the scenic lookout . Here are only 10 parking lots ...(20 Minute parking ). I would recommend to come quite early or at late noon.

The tour guides will say you can't climb down to the pool, but you can. The climb is a little treacherous, but it's not illegal to go down. Jump the wall before the fence. It's worth it!

Various illegal vendors. A pretty view of the waterfall . If you're a fit climber, take the trail at the lookout (steep but short ) vs the longer, MUCH harder trail .25 miles before the lookout .

There's also some climbing around that you can do but it's not nearly as safe as taking a photo from the road or popping your drone out for a peek.

We didn't opt to hike with our young son so we stopped at the outlook. It was serene and well worth driving the 10 minutes from our resort to hear him scream with excitement, "wawa!"

Climb down behind the fence (steep & slippery), jump in the delightful pool and swim to the base of the falls . Truly wonderful experience!

Great view on the wailua falls! The road ends here. The trail is very steep, if you want to go down (it's not allowed though).

Saw plenty of people trying to hike down, but please wear the appropriate footwear! It’s not easy!!

Would be great if you could reach the bottom. Buy the baked goods they sell illegally in the parking lot . They rock!

Beautiful falls , taller than Niagara, that are easy to get to by car.

Beautiful double waterfall that you can drive to. Gets a bit crowded .

Limited parking , spectacular view . Sometimes there's a crazy guy there, being way to social.

After a big rain, the two streams merge and turn red with dirt.

Absolutely gorgeous - must see! Be patient, parking and patience is limited.

Be careful on the way there. Roads are very tight and windy, and tourists are not always the most careful drivers.

If you rather drive then hike to your falls , this is for you and all other tourists . With that said, it's a big waterfall !

You cannot hike down anymore because the trails are closed. Some people seem to hike down anyways.

The first turnout is where locals dump their cars over the edge. Interesting sight to see.

Come at an off time. When it's busy, parking is utter chaos...

Falls are closed to go down to. Enjoy the view !

You can't go down to the falls but there's a scenic viewpoint with some parking spots that's easy to drive to.

Cant' see much.

Unfortunately, you can't swim in that tempting pool below.

Only check in here if you have hiked to the bottom and swam in the lagoon! No cheating!
