One of the top 3 museums I've been to in my life. Nebuchadnezzar's Ishtar Gate is stunning. Lines can be 3 hours long. Spend 2 more euros and buy a ticket online for a time slot to skip the line .

Amazing collection! Ishtar gate and museum of islamic art are fascinating. Unfortunately renovation works are expected to last until 2019, so check the website and take museum island ticket in advance

Mostly wheelchair accessible . It takes you on a historical journey through time. While the elevator looks sketchy and you need someone to operate it for you .You also get a disabled discount .

Just wow! Such a variety of treasures of non-European culture. If you only have time for one museum in Berlin - I would choose this. And get an audio guide

Babylonian , Ancient Greek, Islamic culture. Heaps of interesting and famous objects with a great audio guide in several languages. Great museum .

Remarkable museum with artifacts and façades from areas of Ottoman rule. Some of them were unlawfully removed from Turkish land like the famous Pergamon Altar from Bergama and a mihrab from Konya.

Design of façade of winter palace wth cultural synthesis represents ideology of first Islamic state : building up a new modern civilization by also making use of the richnesses of former civilizations.

This is probably the only museum that has made me feel as if I was actually there, in the middle.of history. The walls, doors and façades are unbelievably real. I'l never regret having been there.

If you're interested in the Assyrian, Roman and Islamic civilizations and history you don't want to miss it.Do yourself a favour and go with the audio guide , lots of the information is in German only.

A "must see" museum !!! very very impressive Collection of Classical Antiquities!

Great place, the Babylon Gates are all worth it, they have really cool stuff inside and its "small" enough to take your time to appreciate it, nonetheless it will still take you 2 hours maybe

This was a real eye opener for me. Stunning exhibitions from the old world. The building is very famous itself and you can see the traces of the battle of Berlin etched in the walls and pillars.

Curse of Esarhaddon was as follows: for Ishtar, goddess of love, to curse the man who took the stele from its place and put in his own name, and to change his manhood to a woman's. On audio guide .

Ishtar Tor, Babylon gate magnificent and beautiful, check in advance whether all the exhibitions are open on the day you will visit it

My favorite museum in Berlin . Is a must if you are there. Be aware that the Pergammon is close until 2017 but there are plenty other things to see.

If you only have time for one museum while in Berlin, make it here. A feast of classical Greek, Babylonian , Roman, Islamic and Middle Eastern art and architecture , it will amaze and enlighten you.

amazing exhibits , worth the wait, but most of them had accompanying text only in german, which is unacceptable for a museum that wants to be included in the most important museums in Europe.

This unique museum is a pearl of Berlin. Unbelievable how all these things were brought from abroad and repeated. I love this place! Must see!

Amazing collection even if not complete currently, audioguide really takes you on a journey! Be prepared to wait about 1hour if you come around 11am

❗ If you don't speak German, make sure to bring a translation app on your phone; the majority of signs and plaques are in German only. The audio guide helps, though!

I would be astonished if 80% of the museum had not been collected/relocated from my homeland during Ottoman Empire's depression/fall time.But I totally agree, Germans keep them in a better shape.

Half of the museum is closed (including the Pergamon Altar ) and I t's not especially big. A queue is around 1.5 hrs on busy days, so you'll spend more time waiting to enter than in the museum .

Cool museum , but most of it is closed until 2019. Took us only 1 hour and a half to go through it listening to the (free) audio guide .

The Pergamon altar and the Ishtar gate are true masterpieces of human history. Sadly, parts of the museum will be inaccessible for the next few years due to renovation.

If you like oriental old art this museum is strongly recommended to visit. Inspiring collection with a lot of ancient monuments

A very important museum in museum island , it is small one but you should stay in line for maybe an hour but worth it

The Pergamon-Altar is currently under renovation, which is quite a pity, this gives one however more time to discover the rest which is still amazing!

A total must see for any museum lover. Such a different approach to what a history museum even means. Beware of the ongoing renovations though!

Nice collection of Greek and Babylonian artworks, especially the Ishtar Tor, but the Pergamon Alter is closed as well as some parts of museum .

Beautiful museum , when I was there they had a wonderful exhibition on Arabic art . A great place to get lost in.

Very long lines . Book a ticket in advance, but make sure to reserve an entry time as well or else your still have to wait in the ticket line !

The Pergamon Altar and the Ishtar Gate are amazing! Worth the visit! Don't forget visiting the Middle East exhibition !

Great exposition - you can go on top of an original ancient greek temple and see the gate of Babylon.

I have been to museums in many countries but this one blew me away. Nb you can skip the line by buying a ticket next door at bode but only to the permanent exhibition

Must see museum in Berlin . Interior is impressive! Very nice parts of the different buildings/architecture.

The audio guides are a must if you want a great explanation of all the fascinating things you're looking at.

If u don't want wait in the queue for hours, make a reservation . The staff are very impolite and the lockers aren't enough for such a great museum .

Great exposition and you can sit on the stairs of an original Greek temple - inside the museum .
