Feels odd to 'heart' this but everyone should go here and now that it's free there really isn't a reason not to. Very well presented history of the Third Reich which sent chills down my spine.
Excellent. A lot of time required to read everything. During the “Third Reich” this was the location of the headquarters of the Secret State Police , the SS and the Reich Security Main Office.
Beautiful photographs of the era. Text only in English and German, audio guide only in German. If you don't speak either I'd quickly go through it anyway as the photographs are really interesting!
Super solid exhibition . The outdoor one goes from left to right - although most people start from the right bc that's where the entrance is.
It's amazing to see how Germans have dealt with their totalitarian history. But this site is not only a monument full of humbleness, it's also a greatly curated museum .
A museum showing the dark side of German history.A period which should not be forgotten about the rise of the nazis and terrible crimes against humanity they committed. A must see.Free entrance.
Totally worth the visit, specially considering that it's free. Really interesting museum about the nazism. It mainly has photos and text. Expect to spend a couple hours here.
If you are interested in history (nazi-period), this is a must-visit place Near Potsdamer Platz, an impressive and informative exhibition , with a lot of documents and photo exhibited . Free entrace.
Very exciting museum . Numerous outspoken facts about nazi period shocking everyone. A frightening reminder of the past.
My favorite museum in Berlin. Half viewing of the Berlin Wall , half great history lesson on the Nazi rise and fall from the perspective of the capital.
It is located on Niederkirchnerstrasse. It’s an history of the central institutions of Nazi persecution and terror around 1933 and 1945. A mandatory place to go to in my opinion and the museum is free
If you are interested in history and spatial and social organisation of national state during 30s 40s - it is a must see. You need to spend at least 2 hours here
Fascinating place to learn about the rise of the SS and the small steps that it took for people to let it happen. Do go, but prepare for a sombre experience and give yourself plenty of time.
Very moving exhibition about the horrible crimes commited by Germans before and during WWII. Can get quite busy on the weekends. Entry is free.
Informative, well-designed outdoor and indoor exhibition on the history of Nazi-era Berlin and Germany .
This museum showcased a detailed history of Nazi Germany including many facts and photos I've never known and seen before. There is a whole block of the Berlin Wall which is preserved intact.
Interesting exhibition , which inteprets the dark past of Berlin. Totally worth to pay a visit, espesially if you are interested in history of the city .
There’s a huge amount of information here on the chilling story of how Hitler and the Nazis came to power. It’s an important lesson from history and well worth at least an overview of the displays.
This is a very historic site for the SS, it has the remnants of the hotel that turned in the HQ of the Gestapo and other Nazi institutions. The museum is free and shows the horrors of the nazi regime .
Very impressive place about how the SS terrorized between 1932 and 1945. If you are a tourist , show some respect and don't take pieces of stone of the walls with you. Leave them where they belong.
But after we visited this place, we move this sightseen to top5. Very modern exhibition with comfortable conditions and stunning exhibits . Must see in Berlin!
Really detailed exhibit about the Nazi regime , interesting architecture and use of shadows and light inside. Also good if you're on a budget because it's a free museum .
Recommended stop to take in the frightful history of Berlin in a bit more detail. In open air and free, so no excuses!
Forget the museum , too special. Just visit the free open air exhibition about Nazi rise and post war Germany . Teaches a very valuable lesson with very simple words and photos. An absolute must!
Location heavy in history. Free entrance. Exhibition is taking place both inside and outside. If there was one museum to recommend about Berlin in the WWII it would be that one.
Eerie, horrific and confronting; this museum is a must. Do yourself a favour and expand your knowledge of the Nazi party via wandering through the exhibit . The stories and photos are truly personal.
My recommendation is that no matter how prepared you are, you will leave this place completely bummed out. A very important reminder to not let history repeat itself
Very, very interesting. Come with a fresh mind as there is a lot to learn here and calculate at least 2 hours. Admission free.
I could have spent all day in this place - truly fascinating and terrifying at the same time.
The interior exhibition is well worth it... A very engaging account of the atrocities committed around the nazi era... And it's free! (don't let the noisy window system distract you!)
Free entry and well worth the visit. Need some time as lots of information to read. Came away with lots of new knowledge about the war and Germany .
Entrance is for free, outdoors and indoors - highly recommend if you want to understand the 3rd Reich and all the events that took place are well explained chronologically
Special outdoor exhibition of Warsaw Rising and destruction of city is superb. Museum is free.
Really moving and informative museum about the rise of the nazi's, the SS and the tragedies that occurred. Free admission and nicely laid out. Loads to go through so take your time.
Very informative about the rise of Hitler , the Nazi Party and the SS. Many old document and photograph exhibits . Given its ambition you will learn enough about the Nazi regime just within this museum .
Detailed explanation of the nazi period with visiuals. Really really great place to visit in Berlin. Don't think of skipping this place on your Berlin trip.
Lots of history accompanied by pictures and and actual recordings. To fully appreciate some understanding of the German language is necessary as some documents aren't translated for obvious reasons.
Very moving and in depth. It will take some time to go through everything. Most documents are translated to English, however the audio tour was only in German and French, at least for now.
A well documented and explained exhibition about the history of the WWII and the nazi-period, takes quite some time to read everything though!
Nicely made memorial place but people taking pictures like they are trying to escape through Berlin wall is just discusting. They do not know how sad history it has? People, think about what u r doing
Impressive exhibition about the SS and Nazi terror in general. Along the street there is a long piece of the Berlin Wall as well .
Lots of info to read all about the History of Germany in the early-mid 1900’s. It also has a few voice recordings of Hitler’s speeches.
You can store your belongings in the lockers provided. You will need one euro to lock it. Get comfortable and take on all the knowledge provided.
far more interesting and engaging than the German history museum . recommended!
Lots of reading, a very detailed history of what went down in World War Two by the Germans. They do not shy away from the horrors. Yet done in a tasteful way.
Great Wall exhibition , and the museum have a lot of information of the secret police . A must definitely.
Probably best museum in Berlin.
I really like the outdoor exhibition that tells the story how NSDAP took over the state .
Very good exhibition . Takes a while while you see and read everything, but it's worth the time.
Hard to give a heart to an important but disturbing historical museum . This is important and even free
So much history (and music... ) in this place... - Enrique Gutiérrez Arzate
My favorite museum in Berlin. Is a must if you are there. Be aware that the Pergammon is close until 2017 but there are plenty other things to see. - Emiliano Viscarra
Great museum, despite the touristy crowd. Interactive, individual, interesting. Worth the pricey entrance. Not to be missed - the new apartment and it’s tv with original DDR programming. - Raphael Langenscheidt
Lovely exhibitions, very interesting, with a slight caveat: very little sense of continuity between the halls and the exhibitions. Overall absolutely worth it. - Artemi Morningstar
Easy to find and interesting. You can take a picture and pay in dollars or euros. The museum is very informative as well. - Domnule Obzen
Love it! I came in December and there was a Christmas fair, lovely space and you get to see the modern building of Berlin - Darleny Lopez
Very interesting memorial. Different from what you usually see. Be aware that there's a museum downstairs. It is free and totally worth it. - Emiliano Viscarra
