구기터널이 밑으로 지나는 홍은동 뒷산에 위치한 탕춘대성(蕩春臺城)의 암문(暗門)이다. 지난날 독박골 또는 독박굴이라는 자연 촌락이 있어서 독박골암문 또는 독박굴암문이라 불리기도 했다. 암문(暗門)은 성벽에 누(樓) 없이 만들어 놓은 문으로 적이나 상대편의 눈에 띄지 아니하는 곳에 꾸민 작은 성문이다. 유사시 성 안팎을 출입하는 비상구로 사용하였다.
