Superb! Spaghetti sauce is amazing, with the perfect amount of spice! Short ribs appetizer was so perfect. Oh! And the bread ! Yum. Carrot cake and the penna cotta were both delicious. Will come again

First time dining at the new location: we liked the new space. The food is still top-notch (grilled turbot was fantastic). Watch-out for the “beautiful & rich crowd” on week-ends.

Risa

Stick with the pastas , especially the spaghetti w tomato and basil & the duck and foie gras ravioli . And don't forget to leave room for the banana bread w chocolate stout ice cream !

Scott Boni

This was one of the best meals and dining experiences of my life. The food was fantastic, presentation was wonderful and the service was too. Ambience is also great. I'll be back many times.

Muskan

Best dishes were the yellowtail appetizer and duck fois gras ravioli . If the pistachio cake is on the menu, forget about your carb free diet and indulge. The extra calories will be worth it.

Elizabeth Burstein

The spaghetti , the duck and foie gras ravioli , and the lamb . So good. Also the last wine on their menu which was very dull body red was delicious

Scarpetta is an all around fabulous restaurant . Service is top notch, the decor is rich and moody and the food can't be beat. Portions are not shareable but not small either. Cute outdoor area too

Kayleigh Harrington

You need to order: Polenta , foie gras ravioli , spaghetti . Don't sleep on the bread basket either, it's delightful.

Village Voice

Braised baby goat remains the center of the menu, but the pastas are even better, including anolotti dal plin. This was the Village Voice's 2009 Best Of winner for an Italian Restaurant Read more

The bone marrow short rib pasta is truly fantastic. The waiters are so helpful and gracious. Amazing atmosphere for a intimate date or a birthday.

Jenny Ung

Try the Pici Pasta dish, new on the menu, probably one of the best pasta dishes I've had in my life. Stracciatella appetizer was amazing too. Lamb neck cavatelli was 2nd best of the night.

Village Voice

The signature pasta remains a homemade spaghetti in a light tomato sauce . The name of the restaurant means 'little shoe ,' referring to the bread you'll use to scoop every ever last bit of sauce. Read more

Quite possibly the best dining experience I've ever had in New York - and I've lived here my whole life. Perfect dinner : the garden salad , Branzino & Olive Oil cake for dessert !

Linds

Loved the scallop crudo and the creamy polenta with mushrooms . Definitely can't go wrong with any of the pastas .

Francine Li

One of the best bread baskets in the city . And an unreal black sqid pasta that I've once eaten ever week for 2 months straight.

Marzipan

Not only does it serve the most delicious Italian food in New York, but this place has style, elegance and romantic setting on point. With friends or as a couple, this place is an experience.

nous mangeons

The creamy polenta and spaghetti and basil are as good as everyone says. If you want meat, try the pork chop ! Save room for dessert cos the banana bread and chocolate cake are fabulous!

Tony Xerri

The only way to experience this place is the Tasting Menu with wine pairings . Most memorable dish I can remember was the short ribs over risotto with the truffle polenta and mushrooms . Do it right.

Tina G.

Everything was soooo delicious. Definitely get the polenta appetizer though! Burrata and heirloom tomato salad was amazing and so was the halibut . Light and delicious! Leaves room for chocolate cake !

Nicole Zhu

Definitely try the signature spaghetti with tomato sauce and basil - simple but delicious. The coconut panna cotta is a nice light dessert to cap a hearty meal of pasta .

Serious Eats

The food at Scarpetta is so good that it's clear that, left to his own devices, Scott Conant knows exactly what he's doing.

Leah Zelazny Poswolsky

Begin your meal with the bread basket (the stromboli bread !) and don't forget to order the life-changing Creamy Polenta with fricassée of truffled mushroom , and any of their excellent pastas .

PureWow

This pasta topped with tangy tomato sauce and ribbons of basil is possibly the simplest dish on this list, but there’s no lack of flavor here. Each melt-in-your-mouth bite is tastier than the last. Read more

All the homemade pasta was delicious but the Spaghetti was a stand-out. They somehow managed to get so much flavour out of a simple pasta and it was very impressive.

Jessie Miño

Polenta with ribs , the homemade pasta and the wine ???????? try the truffle specials they have

The Corcoran Group

Warm and enticing Italian restaurant . Try the Mozzarella In Carrozza followed by the Short Rib Agnolotti or the Duck & Foie Gras Ravioli . Try not to fill up on the delicious bread basket .

Caroline Schulweis

2 orders of spaghetti with tomato and basil , please! Plain pasta has never tasted so good. The gnocchi is delicious too!

Anand Dharan

Quality of food and service have deteriorated since the move to the new location. The signature spaghetti dish is still good but no longer mind-blowing. Less about the food, more about being seen now.

Charles M

Great date spot ! The short rib & bone marrow agnolotti is a must-try! Very flavorful and tasty!

Melissa Rosenthal

Everything is good here. Definitely try one of the homemade pasta dishes - you won't regret it.

Beautiful atmosphere. Reasonable prices and right by the high line . Try the Branzino !

Simplicity. Spaghetti . The bread basket . And best of all, the coffee creamer comes warmed. Hot coffee for dessert anyone?

A must-visit restaurant ! Get the fritto misto , the creamy polenta with mushroom fricassee, the spaghetti w/ tomato and basil and the moist-roasted capretto. You will not stop thinking about this meal!

Christina

The polenta is among the best I've ever tasted. The pasta dishes are also excellent, but certainly could have larger portions for the price.

M V

I'm Italian and I think that finding a good Italian restaurant in the city is quite impossible. Perfect pasta and great atmosphere

Whitney

The creamy polenta and the spaghetti are both a must! Just as good as they are hyped up to be. Plus they serve an amazing bread basket .
