The $1 mini baguettes & the 10-pack of the little gougeres are a bargain but really everything the make here is top notch. Plus the patio out back is delightful on warm, sunny days

Serious Eats

The chewy yet tender Rosemary Olive Fougasse, spotted with bits of rosemary and green olive. The chunks of olive are large enough to add a bit of brine and salt, while the rosemary perfumes every bite. Read more

Almond croissant is a must. All the pastries and coffee are reasonably priced too! Lots of small tables and a back patio , great for reading or getting some work done (no wifi , but a few outlets)

Walk past all those fools at Tartine , and get yourself one of the best almond croissants you ever had in your life. You didn't even know you liked almond croissants till now.

Luke Bornheimer

Amazingness from the counter = almond croissant , bread pudding (sweet and savory) and pecan roll . Amazingness from the menu = tomato mozzarella sandwich and roasted garden vegetable sandwich . Yum yum!

Fernando Irías Escher

Perfect place for a coffee , sweat bread , or even a beer . There’s seating in the nice and sunny patio in the back.

Ashok Lalwani

Cozy cafe with patio seating in the back. Check out soup of the day. That day was Asparagus Cream soup with green onions . Though my favorite was Coffee Cake . One of best ones so far i have had in SF.

Mike Winston

Yes, you should get the famed Almond Croissant . It has fantastic flaky, crispy , and custardy textures and a really nice almond flavor throughout. WinstonWanders.com

Becca Grossman

This is the best bakery I've found in SF. Their pastries are unparalleled, the croissants especially. They made a Christmas tree 100% out of bread last year which was an amazing holiday touch.

Gabrielle Estrada

Best bakery in town !! The almond croissant is the best ever, but everything is very good! When the weather is nice, I love having breakfast on their outside patio !

Clair

I love that they offer a huge variety of tiny desserts and pastries at amazing prices:) The quality is superb & there's never an insane line out the door. + everyone here is super friendly !

Kelly ????

$1 for "mini" baguette ... Eat it there and get it toasted and comes with butter and your choice of jam ! If they don't have the jam you want, you can choose from any of the new jars on display

Michael Alderete

A dozen mini gougères for $4 is a steal. Everything is at least very good, and most is excellent.

Tim Macalino

Try their yummy sandwiches ! This one is the chicken with melted cheese on a toasted bun !

Zack Sheppard

Everyone raves about the almond croissant , but give the blueberry scone a serious consideration. It's the best muffin you'll ever have, just in disguise as a scone !

Anthony Adams

Almond & ham and cheese croissants are both favorites. Love the backyard and casual , non pretentious atmosphere here.

Carrie Edwards

Check out their soup of the day. It's often delicious. My favorite is the corn chowder although I haven't seen it on the menu in a while.

Allen

Ham and cheese croissant and savory bread pudding are both excellent. Good espresso drinks too.

Millie S.

Walking in, the smell of baked goods reminds me of Paris. The latte was perfect and the pastries did not disappoint!

Eduardo Ramirez

probably one of the best almond croissants i’ve ever had. I also tried one of their turnovers and that was pretty good too

Bommy

Tasty lemon poppyseed scone that's lighter than average! Tastes better warmed up. Challah bread is available only on fridays.

Roberto Cosenza

Something was wrong with the croissants today (which I usually love): they looked flat and tasted very buttery. Don't take them when they look like this !

Eli Tucker

The Chicken Melt sandwich is amazing. Bet you didn't even realize they had sandwiches at lunch , did you? Menu is at the register.

Ben Ward

All of Thorough Bread 's sandwiches are outstanding and prepared to order. Order the Tuna Melt though, the olive oil toasted bread and fresh, light tuna mayo is particularly great!

Benjamin Kintner

Excellent pastries and a lovely little backyard to enjoy them in.

Shagun Aulakh

Great fresh pastries . Had the almond croissant . The blueberry scone is more like a muffin or cake like consistency. Great patio in the back

Jenny

I think the almond croissant is good but not amazing. More partial to the ham and cheese croissant and bread puddings . Cakes are also delicious

Justin Wyne

Great place to grab a coffee and get some work done. The pastries are delicious and the sandwiches are solid, too.

Domenic Viterbo

On a gorgeous day, take the day off, drop by before the lunchtime crowd, say, 10:30, & have a cup of tea and an almond croissant on the peaceful back patio . Heaven.

Adrian Chen

The wait is longer on a Sunday morning! They have great almond croissants and yummy apple galette , and sweet potato pastries

Varun Rau

The cheesecake , chicken melt , croissant , turnover, cookies , baguette are all AMAZINGGGGGGGG.

Liz Neu

The croissants are amazing. Get a coffee and sit out back -- the mugs are huge and the back patio is beautiful.

Shahrzad Shams

One of the most beautiful cafes in SF. Sit in its divine garden and have a cup of coffee . ❤️

Kevin Burg

It's all about the almond croissant .

George Joseph

The ham and cheese croissant here is something I could come and eat everyday. ????

John Doherty

Awesome little french pastry spot. It's crowded on Sunday mornings but worth the wait. Get the almost croissant .

Vihang Mehta

Almond croissants are to die for. I also love the bread Christmas tree during holiday season.

Jiexi Cao

Lovely place, not too busy, have Harney & Sons tea and you get a large pot of it. I love the ham &cheese croissant here.

Noah Weiss

Insane ham and cheese croissant plus oasis like garden

Matt Martin

Everything is amazing and the prices are super reasonable. The veggie sandwich is a personal favorite.

Alex Dobyan

The patio out back is a dope spot. Liked my quiche too, was loaded with veg and had a great crust.

Kelly ????

1. Almond croissant , 2. Croissant , 3. Pecan roll , 4. Cinnamon and pecan scone , 5. Fruit tart , 6. Bread pudding . All with a huge bowl of black coffee

Steve K

Shhh. Don't tell anyone about the amazing patio . Just get an almond croissant in a to go bag. Yah. Do that.

Tamara Hudgins

I love this place! Great coffee and a cute outdoor patio . Definitely a favorite weekend spot.

Kevin Isacks

Fresh well priced sandwiches and Pastries . All baked in house and excellent
