Nathaniel Russell House is a museum Charlestowne Charleston located in United States.
51 Meeting Street Charleston , SC 29401 United States
This 19th-century former residence is arguably the grande dame of house museums . Its Neoclassical details (an oval dining room; a floating spiral staircase ) have been restored to their 1808 grandeur.
Three newly renovated rooms just opened [January 2019] a riot of color, incredible attention to detail. Excellent tour guides. I’m a local & NR is my ‘go to’ when my ‘snowbird’ pals visit Charleston
One of the few houses left intact. The guide felt like she was transported from the time. Beautiful recreation everything from that time. Nice outside garden for pics not much of a store w/I.
Pretty cool spot with amazing feats of architecture ????????
Best historic spot in all of Charleston...architecture is stunning and the restoration is beautiful...buy the combo with the Aiken-Rhett house and save $4
No you cannot take the floating staircase yourself but it is still a marvel. Free restrooms without a ticket in the back.
It's pretty, but don't dare touch the walls, doors furniture ....in fact it might be good to hold your breath...
They recently added an elevator and are the only museum house to do so as of this tip.
Stairs are amazing
