Architecturally inspiring -amazing views to the Golden Gate Bridge . Rodin's The Thinker frames the entrance, setting the tone for a unique collection. From medieval to modern art , Rodin to porcelain.
A tiny gem of a museum with a fantastic selection of furniture , medieval & romantic paintings . Bike out on a Saturday morning, and walk around the coast trail afterwards. Good temporary exhibits , too.
this place is simply stunning: inside and out! I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys art or anyone who would like to learn a piece of history! great for school field trips, families or dates! ;)
One of my favorite museums in SF . Extensive art collection + amazing views of the city and the bay .
museum in a beautiful location with views of the golden gate with collection of ancient and european fine art
From my first visit here I have been a member. I love the arts and the exhibits here have been great. I really do appreciate that this is close enough to enjoy.
My favorite chilling place in SF. There may have concert(chamber music , organ ) sometimes. After having enough fun in the museum , you can simply go down to lends end to enjoy a sunset view .
A really beautiful area of the city ! After the museum go to Lands End, which is nearby, for a hike .
Absolutely beautiful here, not only is the museum great but the views of the pacific also make this museum worth it. Highly recommend!
This is an awesome Museum/Gallery. There are more art exhibits and displays here more than one can see in a day. Check out all the photos that visitors have taken at this magnificent place.
I have the best memories of this place not only what collections they have inside, but also the surroundings and the architecture of the museum .
Much better art-museum than expected. Not sure why I assumed it would not be impressive, as I was surely proved wrong. A great collection and great featured exhibits ! A must-see for art-lovers.
Excellent regular collection and creative special exhibitions . Focused on European art . Also amazing views !
Visiting the special exhibits are definitely worth it. ☺ Here is a photo from the special Truth and Beauty exhibit .
Really the entire museum is great. QR codes to pull up text about the exhibits plus audio, a wide range of exhibits , and some interesting juxtapositions.
Beautiful art museum located a Lincoln Park . Walk about a mile from the Legion of Honor down to China Beach for a fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge
Beautiful surrounding (golden gate bridge visible) and museum . Get a map at the counter because some of the more valuable exhibits are in rooms toward the back on both sides
A SF hidden gem - museum has a real Claude Monet water lily painting ! Worth the admission - great view and artwork.
The museum opens at 9:30, and if you get there early it's much less crowded . When you are done, take a walk and check out the views !
Views from parking lot are as impressive as the collections. Small museum with excellent collection. Leave some time to walk around outside.
Stunning Parisian photo stop right in San Francisco. Excellent European-focused Fine Arts museum .
Great art in a beautiful location. Check out the ocean view and the Golden Gate Bridge next to the museum on a clear day.
Check out the giant Makovsky painting ! Stunning! 😍 https://www.instagram.com/p/BxWfIUbjJt6/?igshid=xr1r7skgax5i
Great place. Take a look to the view of the city when finish your visit
If traveling w/ physically handicapped/senior citizens, you can enter/exit thru the side Emergency Exit glass doors, on the lower level near the Cafe & Sculpture Garden , by first speaking w/ a guard .
The organ recitals on Sat/Sun 4pm are great. Organists play everything from classical, My Fair Lady tunes to the soundtrack from Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times.
Amazing art place ..paintings and artifacts from ancient europe and Mediterranean places..and very well organized too..enjoyed it.
The atmosphere was breathtaking. Wonderful view and great collection of artwork.
really excellent impressionist exhibit . loved the layout of the museum . loads better than De Young, in my opinion.
If you're looking for a little escape, this is the perfect place. It feels like you're in Paris!

If you don't have time or the patience to visit inside the museum , go for a hike along the ocean en route to it. Incredible views of GG Bridge .
Incredible views of the city and Rodin’s Thinker, which sits in the museum’s front courtyard , make the Legion a must.
The panoramic view of San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge , and the Richardson Bay is a magnificent sight to see. ☆☆☆☆
Great exhibits . Ridiculous entrance fees. Art for the people -- not at this "Palace ."
Besides the talented Monet and Rodin, you don't want to miss these giant eyes
Free tours are given a few times a day. Sometimes hit and miss, but can't complain because they're free!
Your ticket to Legion of Honor is valid in De Young museum (and vice versa) if visited on the same day.
really awsome exhibits , love to just drive by when trying to avoid 19th ave when getting off the golden gate bridge
There is no better place to experience San Francisco's unwelcoming fog than from the Legion's peaceful front entrance. Check out the touring exhibit if it sounds interesting, or just go for the view .
Excellent museum I recommend it
Membership applies to DeYoung also, you'll easily make up the money on exhibit tickets. Get one.
On Saturday & Sunday, admission is free at 4:30pm - 5:00pm. Come listen to the pipe organ played by a master. The sweet spot is inside in the middle of the rotunda between the entry & the keyboard.

A three-quarter-scale version of the one in Paris (Palais de la Légion d'Honneur). So much great art !
