Gyeongbokgung Palace

Be sure to check out the time for the guard changing ceremony. You can exit gyeonbokgung station to reach this palace directly. It's a huge palace but the main hall and rooms are restricted to enter.

Each rock plate represents where the soldiers stand by their level. There is a beautiful lake on the west and mountain at the back of the Gyeongbokgong palace .

Nice palace to visit but if planning to visit only one palace in Seoul go to changdeokgung palace which is much better & has the same design. Here go to national folk museum .

To get in the palace , each person has to pay 3,000 KRW ($3 CAD/$2.5 USD). If you are wearing a hanbok (Korean Traditional dress ), you can get in for free. Look for rentals in the area.

My favorite palace in Seoul . You can tie several together and make a nice day walking tour . One of my favorite things to do the day after flying in.

They have free guided tours in English, Korean and other languages. Try to attend them since you’ll appreciate the place more and get a lot of information.

There are many palaces in Seoul ,and for most you can't visit all of them. So if i have to visit one of these beautiful palaces , I would say it has to be Gyeongbokgung. :)

Get down to the basement in the northeast corner, and see the water clock. It's a monster, and pretty cool to see such an old Rube Goldberg machine.
