Be sure to check out the time for the guard changing ceremony. You can exit gyeonbokgung station to reach this palace directly. It's a huge palace but the main hall and rooms are restricted to enter.

Each rock plate represents where the soldiers stand by their level. There is a beautiful lake on the west and mountain at the back of the Gyeongbokgong palace .

The main palace from the Joseon Dynasty. Aside from the breathtaking Korean/Chinese architecture , this is also home to the National Palace Museum and National Folk Museum . Definitely a must-see.

Ruben Garcia Mohedano

They shut the entry doors 1 hour before it closes. That’s your key to visit the palace and its surroundings avoiding massive crowds. Also, the sunset’s light has a beautiful impact in the architecture

amalina aziz

Rent a Hanbok and you get to enter for free! I think this palace is a must visit if you travel to Seoul for the first time! It’s really beautiful seeing so many tourists wearing Hanbok .

Greta Dalyaprak

The biggest and main palace so if you don’t visiting others this one is must to see! Very big territory so it will take time to walk around. Also don’t miss guard changing ceremony!

Obviously a must visit if you are in Seoul!! So big and right in the middle of the city . Book a tour , it is worth it!! Allow a few hours to just wander around :)

Simple Discoveries

This is the largest of Seoul's Five Grand Palaces built by the Joseon dynasty - and the crowds indicate so. Suggest getting the pass at 10,000 Won to see all 5 and then take 2-3 days to visit.

Swiss In Hong Kong ????????????????

One of the most impressive places in Seoul. Have a walk inside the big park of the palace .

Maggie MacG

Absolutely awe inspiring palace/temple. The grounds sprawl on & on & back up to beautiful mountain views . We had the pleasure of visiting on national founding day and seeing many in traditional dress .

Eric Kim

It’s a palace of Chosun dynasty . If you wear Hanbock can enter without entrance fee. There is English guide service for free. Check the time. :-) It takes about two hours to look around.

John Cho

Place where the cultural heritage and history of Joseon Dynasty are still very alive! Must-see attraction ! Walk around in HanBok (Korean Traditional Clothes ), make you feel like a person from history.

Majed Alashari

Nice palace to visit but if planning to visit only one palace in Seoul go to changdeokgung palace which is much better & has the same design. Here go to national folk museum .

Tanya V

A must visit. The most beautiful Joseon dynasty palace . 500 amazing buildings to admire. Make sure to check out a pond with lilies

Frances James

The most famous Palace in Seoul (although I found Deoksugung prettier), sprawling. If you want to go in the center temple , you have to buy a ticket in advance (day before).

Worldbiz

Grandest palace in Seoul set against mountain backdrop. Many pavilions & halls spread out on sprawling grounds, prepare to walk! Closed on tues. Daily changing of guards 10am-3pm.

Zhi hong Lam

Beautiful palace . It was destroyed by Japan previously and this is a rebuild. Free entrance during Koreans' Chunseok day (A.K.A Mooncake festival )

Fabio Resende

Beautiful traditional palace that has been fully rebuilt and now is a UNESCO world heritage site. Free entry on wednesdays.

Chyrell

To get in the palace , each person has to pay 3,000 KRW ($3 CAD/$2.5 USD). If you are wearing a hanbok (Korean Traditional dress ), you can get in for free. Look for rentals in the area.

Joe Lim

Don't say you have visited Seoul if you have not been to this beautiful palace ! Remember to take a great shot right opposite the square!

Xay Tanovan

it's one of the thing you have to see when you go to seoul. This palace is so big and very nice to see. Take your time because it's very big, but you'll not regret

Unique Palace to tour right in the center of Seoul. Restaurants and other stores near by for shopping and eateries .

Dan Mondragón Somera

Closed on mondays. The back palace surrounded by a lake is being remodeled at the moment. Check the guard change hours and you’ll see a pretty cool spectacle :)

The Ritz-Carlton

Six centuries old and still welcoming respectful visitors, this is the grandest of Seoul’s palaces . The two-storey Geujeongjeon is impressive, but the lake pavilion islands are unforgettable.

MoeryNapitupulu

Never forget to apply generous sunblock, put on your glasses, bring your umbrella and complemented by a small electric fan, this complex is huge, open and super hot in summer

Magdalena Mrázková

Beautiful! We were there during Chuseok and although the admission was for free everywhere that day, the amount of people was overwhelming

Maria Ellen Llorando

There are many palaces in Seoul ,and for most you can't visit all of them. So if i have to visit one of these beautiful palaces , I would say it has to be Gyeongbokgung. :)

Bitter Root

Get down to the basement in the northeast corner, and see the water clock. It's a monster, and pretty cool to see such an old Rube Goldberg machine.
