Originally built in 1939, The Royal Cinema is an historic Art Moderne movie house located in the heart of Little Italy. The 450-seat theatre was known as the Pylon when it first opened in 1939. Over time, it’s become one of Toronto’s most cherished landmarks.

What a fun little movie theater ! I came for the Scream Queens performance - it wasn't the best but it was worth it. It happens once a month, for those who want to keep an eye out.
Great Rep-Cinema with lots of unique programming!! Go for the VHS movie nights, go back for Kid Power afternoons!

Enjoyed "Almost Famous" movie with my friend on first anniversary of theatre. The seating was uncomfortable.

They always have a selection of indie films. I would say, go here if you’re more of a movie buff. The theatres are smaller and cozier than most. Which fits with their film selections. - Cara Lau

We have been going to Cafe Diplomatico for years and it’s always good and there is something for everyone in the menu. Service is good and moderately cheap! I like their Rose Sauce Pasta. - Cansin S
