When musician Daniel Johnston was asked to paint this wall in 1993, he painted one of his cassette covers. Back then, Record Exchange was there. Now, it's a Thai restaurant named "Thai, How Are You?"
There's a reason rock stars and onesie-wearing tykes alike flock to Daniel Johnston's distinctive frog mural : It's like a perfect storm of sweet and weird.
They knocked the building down in 2023 but have preserved the wall, awww.
Catty-corner from the mural is Dobie Center, a dorm and mall . There used to be a McDonald's in there that Daniel worked at.
Daniel Johnston was commissioned to paint this large-scale version of his “Hi, How Are You” album cover on the side of a record store , now a chain restaurant , in 1994.
