Beautiful architecture with spectacular shows, talented dedicated performers , and spine-chilling music . Love their inclusiveness and efforts to increase diversity in gender, nationality, ability, etc.
Go there in the evening and don't miss the scenic view of Mississippi River and Arch Stone Bridge . Must visit.
Fantastic theater complex. Make sure to go to the observation area for the views of the Mississippi River and the falls.
Strong characters, thought-provoking issues on racism, some comedy , language, and directions. Great ensemble, wonderful staff , cafe a bit higher on the price. Stop by their gift shop .
Saw Guys and Dolls and it was amazingly fun!!! If you go make sure you head up to 9th floor and check out the views from there.
This is an awesome theater !! It's has nice lounge areas and the theater seating is cozy . I totally recommend catching a show here. I'm definitely coming back!!
Two theatres . We've seen multiple plays at both but the Wurtle-thrust stage is the best. Every seat is great. Great views . Nice staff .
Pay-at-a-machine-just-before-you-go parking ramps don't work very well at the theater where everyone leaves at once. Use a credit card at the exit -- it still will take a while to get out of here.
Make a whole day of it. Wander the park nearby, eat a sandwich on the endless bridge , walk by the river , get dinner at Sea Change , and go see an evening play.
Sign up for their mailings and emails to get lots of special deals. Or just show up an hour before the show and get in the rush line . The performances are worth full price, but cheaper is better.
Interesting architecture - two story floating bridge overlooking the Mississippi and a two story skyway for moving set pieces between the scene shop (across the street) and the theaters .
A must if you're looking to see a show. Beautiful new building with views of the river on intermission .
It's an attractive and efficient lobby once you get the hang of it, and most of the plays are extremely well-done. They bat about .750 on their Shakespeare.
Amazing production of South Pacific. Beautiful theater . Beautiful views . Perfect.
Go have a delicious cocktail at the Target Lounge on the 4th floor with Tim the bartender . Such a swanky little place.
The theater opened in 1963 with a production of Hamlet directed by Sir Tyrone Guthrie, the theater 's founder. It was created to host performances that were removed from the atmosphere of Broadway.
Even if you don't have tickets for a show, definitely stop by to view this beautiful building.
There are very nice coat lockers foe a quarter near the box office but most people haul their big storm coats to their seats. Dummies!
Perfect seats-3rd row from front dead center. What a wonderful performance ! The Mountaintop was amazing.
You don't have to have a theater ticket to check out the amazing views on their "Endless Bridge " or grab a bite at Sea Change
Love the Guthrie! Awesomest building in the city :-)
Go to the Target bar before the show-good drinks, good seating, it's never as crowded as the bridge , and the bar tender on Sundays is good.
ometimes an evening at the theater is just the culture you crave. The Twin Cities have their fair share of opportunities to experience live theater , but one of the best and newest is at The Guthrie Th
The lookout on the 9th floor was great!
up the stairs and out onto the cantilever deck for great views
It was a great play, the actors, the performance and the customs were Broadway like.
A plethora of venues and artistic options. It's a unique and necessary Minneapolis experience
Bathroom Review: with a plethora of different options and no security to ask you what the hell you're doing wandering around a theater , this is one of the best toilet options in the neighborhood .
Ride your bike along the Mississippi River side of the Guthrie and then look at it...it's complately different from the back. And beautiful! Read more

Get to the theater early and go to the coffee bar on the 5th floor outside the Wuertle Thrust stage. Have their green tea with mango . Don't be in a hurry. Let it steep. Fragrant and wonderful!
Last minute show tickets for $25. Set & costumes for A Christmas Carol were lovely.
Awesome views that you can check out anytime
30 or under? Join the "below 30" club and buy same-day tickets at rush line prices (~$20) without standing in the rush line .
Really cool view of Minneapolis
Great space, but the theatrical performances are uninspired and completely "safe".
Rush seats are available a half-hour before performances - great way to take in a show if your budget is limited.
Had the best time when i went there and i will carry on the christmas tradition
Pre-order cocktails at the Target Lounge and avoid the lines during intermission .
Student rates for most shows. Online and at the box office .
Make sure you go out on the bridge !
Scenic view . Great seating and sound.
I love the snacks at the Target Lounge . Great vibe too.
Some of the best theater around, beautiful architecture . It's a MPLS must.
