You could spend a year here and not see everything; best to follow the colour coded signage to the time periods you want to focus on; and the I.M. Pei addition is worth a stroll.
Couldn't see it all in one visit! interesting to read the native perspective on many periods of German history. Amazing museum cafe , too.
Very nice place to learn about German history and definitely worth to visit. Reasonably priced (8 EUR per adult),free for youth below 18-years old.Additionally free entrance on German Unification Day.
History geeks will love this museum . Covers German history from Charlemagne till German-reunification and the different aspects of life throughout. Only downside is organization is a bit confusing.
Amazing insight into Germany's long history, from the HRE, to the World Wars , to modern day trends. Leads into a good understanding of the formation of Europe today. Will take up your whole day.
Amazing place where you need at least a day to travel into the German/European history.
Amazing palce, restroom is clean , stuff is friendly and helpful. There is so much material you really have to arrive in the morning
I spent 5 hours at this museum , skipping lunch completely. I would have happily stayed for another 1-2 hours, but it was 4pm and I was famished. One of the best museums anywhere in the world.
You will learn so much and see some fascinating stuff here. The layout was confusing to me though so give yourself at least 3 hours.
Monumental collection of German history. Beautiful building. Not everything is bilingual, but there's enough English to guide oneself thru if you don't get the audio guide. Cafeteria Kuechen are so-so
Very insightful. German history from middle ages until 1994. I loved walking in the halls full of art pieces, objects and culture from all ages.
As a foreign intern in BLN it cost me only €4 to visit the whole museum . This is a Saturday afternoon and its empty. The guides are extremely helpful and the exhibitions are wonderful. Don't go, run.
Great overview of Germany's long history. Kind of tough to follow the displays in order, though. They're ordered sequentially and it can be hard to find the next one.
Excellent museum for history buffs. Compact, but lots of information on all periods of German history.
A violent book called Struwwelhitler offered in the children book section of the museum shop. Not recommended to check together with kids. A psychologist should advice the curators here.
Must seen for every european. Great outlook on european and german history in logic sequence and rare items. Plan out at least 1 day for thoughtful browsing.
The exhibition about the first World War is really worth a visit. 8€ for adults; 4€ for students.
This is amazing. I've been there four times and I could not finish it yet.
Amazingly, the exhibits span centuries of German history. Comprehensive chronology. Leave lots of time if you want to see it all.
Really interesting museum and definitely worth doing a visit if you are interested in German and European history .
My favorite museum . Large, that too. Great curated expo's!
Really nice exhibitions . Every part of a German history is highlighted.
Napoleon 's hat and Frederick the Great's uniform. Hitler's bizarre globe and insanely large desk.
All German and some European history in one place. There are arrows on the floor, but still following exposition in the right order was hard.
Great museum ! You'd love it if you're into museums . Pick up a "minicard" from your hotel 's tourist brochure stand for half price entry!
You could skip the first part, but it’s a must see the part after Napoleon . Ticket costs around 9euro. Worth it!
Conveniently located, frequently changing exhibits , all on the history of Germany. Factual history, brought in an understandable way.
Monumental collection of German history. Couldn't get am audio guide bc there were all checked out; however there were enough narratives in English to guide me thru.
Probably one of the best history museum . Wonderfull and detail exhibition .
This museum is enormous! Make sure to pace yourself at the beginning of your visit, or even pick your favorite time period and go there first
Very comprehensive and very well organized ! Loved it... So much to see and so much to learn...
Exceptional journey through the German history from A to Z.
Full of wealth about the history of Europe. However the technology can support better the educational work of museum especially for the younger generations
The best of all the museums . Relax in the cafe when you're finished. The cake is delicious!
A little confusing structure . Take your time for this. Can take up to 4-6 hrs to go to the whole collection.
Definitly one of the greatest museums in Berlin . The permanent exibitions are a must see.
The German Historical Museum . You'll find all you need to know here! Read more
My favorite museum in Berlin . A real mix of German relics.
Spectacular history museum , rich in artifacts . Don't miss it.
Awesome place. You will need at least 3hours. Remember museum will close at 6PM
The permanent exhibition was closed when we visited, there were two temporary exhibitions instead which were decent but not outstanding. Great bookshop in the basement .
One of the broadest and most interesting museums in the city !
The museum is quite extensive, you should reserve some hours.
All of German history from the early settlements. Could spend hours there
The essential place to learn about German history, especially before World War II
Check out 'colours of the Republic' exhibition of 60s propaganda photography in East Berlin
Interesting exhibition about German colonialism.
Huge. Reserve one day if you want to see everything.
