If you miss the early morning meat market bargains, there is a butchers just across the road with bargain prices open until 3 weekdays and 12 on sat.
Unsold pigs were given to St. Anthony's hospital from this market in the 12th Century. When seen wondering the streets you were obliged to feed them. They grew to great sizes and were worth a fortune
19 December: Get a turkey . It is still where some of London's best turkeys can be found. The market 's Great Annual Turkey Auction can be a chance to pick up a bargain.
