If you're a fan of photography go to Foam! It was a good sized museum with 3 exhibitions when I was there but could be done in just a few hours. Not too crowded and has coat check/free lockers

Yasmin V

Possibly my favorite museum in Amsterdam . I've seen many beautiful photography exhibitions here, and the building itself is worth checking out too.

Marie T

Art museum focused in photography . Very trendy place , you will spot some hipsters . They have gift shop , café , library . I was there in January and got to se both Vivian Maier and Araki. Amazing work!

John Barnham

We saw the Swinging Sixties London exhibition . It was well crafted and showed the new glamour of the time. Good little cafe on the bottom floor too.

Journey City Guides

Renowned photography museum housed in a monumental canal house. Four exhibitions at any time showing works from young and confirmed artists

Jonne Kingma

Great photography museum and the most well known photography museum of Amsterdam. When you like this, don't forget to check out the other photography museum , Huis Marseille.

Petri

One of my favourite museums in Amsterdam . Definitely worth a visit, if you are a photographer or if you simply love photographs as art .

Bo

I had high expectations but I liked only one of the three exhibitions . I wanted to see more experimental techniques and hidden stories of everyday life captured by different photographers ’ lenses.

Jean-Paul Schaddé van Dooren

Photomuseum. Sometimes the expositions are awesome, sometimes they suck, but I always like to be here in the building.

Karin B

Great museum for photography lovers. They offer the best photo exhibitions in town . Check out their website to see what exhibitions they have or are coming up.

Lianca Ruiter

One of favorite places in Amsterdam! Great pictures and the cafe has delicious drinks and... Cakes :)

Saw London in the Swinging Sixties photography exhibition recently, which was great! It's a cool venue with good facilities.

California Girl

Immensely enjoyed the current Magnum Contact Sheet exhibit , replete with the ability to look at the BACK of the images. Very inspiring. Top show???????? #cglifestyle #photography #foursquarefind

Sidney Smeets

One of my favourite museums . Changeling exhibitions only, no permanent collection. Visit and re-visit whenever you can and do not miss their annex in Felix Meritis.

Simon Saint

Amazing photographic museum , the glass block bridges and 3rd floor library are stunning, plus brilliant exhibitions ...

Sissy Tsk

Great gallery of Mr. Araki. Very touching. Although with small corridors and a lot of stairs, the place feels very artistic and complements the artwork.

The photography museum of Amsterdam is a great place to spend a rainy afternoon. They always have interesting exhibitions .

naveen

spend an hour some afternoon here, maybe get an espresso in the cafe . some great points of inspiration, especially in style and technique

Brian Dammeir

Lovely museum on the canals . The cafe in the basement is worth checking out. Quality of the exhibits can be erratic.

Cynthia Drescher

Contemporary photography is the name of the game. If the line to enter stretches out the door, don't panic. It moves quickly, unlike at the Anne Frank house.

Ilse

Great for popping in to get a quick inspiration fix and a cup of coffee !

Chris P

3 fantastic exhibitions . All very different frameworks that build to a true picture of reale photography through different cultures & times.

Hana V

Great museum , interesting expositions . Never gets boring, great books in their shop.

Mykolas Petrauskas

Cozy photo museum ; very Amsterdam-like layout with tiny halls and narrow staircases. Changes exhibition every 2 months or so

Irina Mikheeva

One of the best photography museums I've ever been! Great collection

Alejandra Ramos Valle

Not as big as you would expect. But the look&feel of the museum compensates it. Great structure and use of the different rooms.

Cian Mac Mahon

Really enjoyed the exhibits , if you don't linger too long you can do the museum in an hour.

Melike Sayman

Interesting museum , Museumkaart holders can go in for free, photography and art !

Annix L.

One of my favourite museums in town . Great bookshop too.

Paul Baudéan

Always good to get inspired by some disruptive photography . Don't miss the top floor second expo!

Aidu F

Interesting exhibitions . Worth a visit

David O Byrne

Overpriced for the amount of space available for exhibitions . The amount of space they do have is not used very effectively. It's also safe to say the curator's tastes differ greatly with mine.

Joseph Terranella

Great photography museum with a diverse selection of exhibits on at any one time.

Edo Costa

Best foto museum of amsterdam, rich program, worth the visit!

Kevin Brenkman
