The fitness center is amazing. I've been here since I was a kid for Japanese classes . That photo was taken there. It's me in the weights area in the back.
Such a warm and welcoming community! They offer everything from parenting classes , preschool , afterschool, theatre events , fitness classes , a pool, a fitness center . All of the things!
They have babysitting for $5 an hour per kid, an awesome deal if you want to offload Little Jimmy while you pump iron, play basketball or indulge in some other distraction from child rearing.
The 14th Street Y is known as a community gathering space with basketball courts , family swim time, and 40 fitness classes a week. Summer and weekend camps for kids are popular.
Solid pickup bball games Tuesday & Thursday nights as well as a great pool and a good set of classes . A hidden gem in the east village .
Great basketball runs on Tuesday & Thursday nights . The gym fee is worth that alone if you're looking for consistent hoops.
Great place for out of towners - day passes available starting at 9am for $20; buy a day ahead if you want to workout early.
We can't get enough of the Punk Rope class here. Jump rope isn't just for the playground set anymore. For real.
The whole of 14th Street turns into a gigantic outdoor art gallery during the Art in Odd Places festival ; this year’s theme is “chance.” Oct 1-10.
Try Punk Rope on Monday nights. It's a great workout & it's fun.
Would be great if they could add another towel dispenser above the water fountain near the treadmills . Thanks!

Try the GrooveHoops class ! It's a ton of fun. Mondays, 8pm, $12
Great place to lift cuz there aren't huge body builders that make you feel like a little shrimp .
Here for a healthy birth choices workshop. Baby is near ;)
Great walk-in classes for moms with newborns— Kiki runs the show and she's fantastic.
A YMHA, not a YMCA. The pope don't play weekend basketball here!
