One of the oldest restaurants in London! Stunning dining room. You have to try the roast rib beef or the typical english dish kidney pie ! Everything was excellent.
You have to go for a roast here. Tourist or local you simply must. Surprisingly child friendly too. The bar upstairs is perfect for a pre or post meal drink too.
Absolutely lovely roast beef ... Sharing platter for dessert was perfect and no.283 on wine list is perfect and compliments
One of my favourite restaurants , great service, great food and great wine . One can lose hours in this place. Ask for a booth and perhaps a Cocktail bar upstairs for a light drink before hand. The 'bee
Good atmosphere and busy but the beef was not as good as I'm used to at home! Quite an operation and very friendly and efficient staff
Fantastic Beef Wellington and the carving trolleys add some theatre . Wonderful ambience in a gorgeous space.
If you are looking for the best traditional British food, this is truly the place !
We had the roast beef done and it was great. It was my wife's birthday and they treated her to dessert .
Buffet - carbo filled, deep fried, bloat! - heavy heavy heavy...coffee like gravy ...I do so love these old English 'institutions'...almost like they can't be bothered to serve up good healthy fare !
Come for Sunday roast . The beef is great! I also had the lamb which was equally as good!
The exclusive Simpson’s in the Strand restaurant opened in 1828 as a chess club and coffee house . It became known as the home of chess and attracted all the great players of the age.
Class . Elegance. Taste. Famous. Quality Service. Fine dining . Sunday roast is incredible!
Aged Scottish beef , vegetables , skate , all really good options. Nice ambience
The best roast beef I've ever tasted.
Very quiet in the cocktail bar ! And I thought it was supposed to be the best cocktails in town !!!!!
If you get the roast beef or similar, it is apparently traditional to discreetly tip the carver once he's served everyone. £1 or £2 should be OK.
The Baked Alaska is excellent.
Perfect roast beef and a great wine list .

Where Holmes often ended his evenings after cases
This restaurant is very poor in service. We had to wait for-about an hr to get the drinks. Very bad restaurant in all means
To be honest the food was lovely but the service was not. The service was terrible! Took over 30 minutes after ordering the starter for it to arrive.
Very civilised way to start the day!
Be prepared to dress up for breakfast !
Famoso e Elegantissimo. Ristorante classico dal sapore puramente british. Ordinate l'arrosto britannico al tavolo uno spettacolo per gli occhi e per il palato. Servizio in sala curatissimo .
Hat Stil! Nicht ganz günstig aber macht Spaß.
Roast Beef y puré de papas . Buenísimo
