One of my favourite places in London, always have a fantastic programme and the shop is just great. The coffee shop next to the box office has good coffee and they do amazing backstage tours .
Lovely place to read! You can pick any of the common areas outside the theatres . The lighting over the tables is excellent for working, even in areas that look very dark before trying the tables.
If you are on a budget but don't want to miss on a play on this fantastic theatre , ask about the standing option (5 pounds). The scenography is incredible. Nice to hang out before and after plays.
Great space to work inside, not many power points - but comfortable tables and chairs, and unlimited water. Oh, and I hear they do plays here too
The best performances take place here. Huge, modern industrial rooms/theatre. Excellent bar with drinks/beers in the ground floor, with view in southbank. Excellent coffee shop on the side.
International and authentic theatre . They have a lot of classics which they show here. There's also free wifi making it t good for working as well as a cafe &a gift shop .
I love the national theatre. Such an amazing range of plays on at their various theatres . The book shop is amazing for thespians. Plays, books for acting, directing, audition monologues. Love it.
Great place to see the best of British Theatre . Bars better as you go up. Food not bad. Go to the Espresso Bar at the back for a good selection of sandwiches but get your drinks at the bar .
It’s absolutely massive. Never realised how many floors there are! Great socialising space and free events occasionally out front during summer.
Great views of the Thames, London Eye, etc. from balcony of third level by the bar . Pop out for some fresh air during intervals.
The café does a great flat white , but the sandwiches are pretty expensive . Not a lot of light, but there's lots of space to sit and ponder. Don't forget to get an entry pass for early bookings !
Free wifi , onsite gift shop , box office and great for people watching around sunset
The National Theatre’s three auditoriums—the Olivier , the Lyttelton and the Cottesloe—are venues of world-famous plays and musicals . Book tickets in advance. Open Monday to Saturday, 9:30am to 8pm.

Their bookshop , cafe and bars are opened late , pop in for a browse or a quick drink.
The inside of the building is welcoming and well signed. 3 great spaces for performing . Bar drinks are quite expensive .
If you're a student turn up with your id 45 mins before a performance and get the best seats in the house for 15 pounds.
Authentic international theatre companies. The classics often appear here
My favourite place in London. It's like the mothership and it's beaming me up to come home. Great performing arts venue .
The terrace at the top is lovely in the summer. Sit outside and watch the world go by
It was given a permanent home at the South Bank arts complex in the Greater London borough of Lambeth in 1976. In 1988 Queen Elizabeth II gave permission for the company to add “Royal” to its name.
Great example of gothic architecture and a lovely place to sit and enjoy the South Bank .
During the interval at a play showing in the Olivier , make sure you go and stand on the terrace for some unique views of London.
Even if a show is sold out it is always worth trying for returns on the day - get there a good few hours before the performance and take a good book
If you're 16-25, sign up for the Entry Pass for £5 best available tickets and workshops. Brilliant programme.
If Barbershop Chronicles is still on you should go and see it!! ????
if the sunset views from the 6th floor of the Royal Festival Hall aren't satiating. Try the views from the top floor of the National Theatre. Stunning!
Port is brilliant! Simon Stevens is the bomb!! Back row of the Lyttleton theatre and everything was seen perfectly.
The best of the best. Also a nice place to hang out during he day
Come in for a glass of wine or an amazing theatre experience.
Three stages in one venue. Great architecture if you like that brutalist kinda thing.

Rough modernist architecture but excellent theatrical productions
Many great productions. Great value if you book early.
Nice architecture in the touristy landmark
Very busy outdoor terrace - lots of fun & atmosphere
Theater was beautiful, the play we saw was high art : utterly confusing but well acted
If you time it right, the view from the terrace outside the Olivier Circle at dusk is really beautiful
Day tickets released at 8 30, but for popular shows it's worth turning up and queuing from about 7 to guarantee tickets.
Wonderful place to relax and read in the heart of the city .
Othello with @AdrianLester and Rory Kinnear is absolutely brilliant - get tickets while you still can!
Comfy seats very close to the stage!
I was surprised by the amount of students working here on the ground floor.
Excellent view from upstairs. Amazing set. Lovely views from the many outdoor balconies. - Derek Law
Such a great theatre! I visited 3 times last year (Other desert cities/ The crucible/ Electra) and I can't wait to visit again :) - Helen T
Great theatre, fairly small so all seats have a fantastic view! Bars on each floor so queues are minimal in the interval. - Emily-jane
Go for the closer rows in stalls, because it can get claustrophobic with more remote options - Fresh
A must-visit for lovers of modern art. Permanent collection is wonderful and exhibitions frequently superb - Justin
One of the best experiences in London! I really recommend to get it and see the Skyline. Could be better to take it at night. - Enrique Tamborero @etamborero
