Kauapea Beach (Secret Beach) is a beach Kīlauea Kauai County located in United States.
2638 Kauapea Rd Kīlauea , HI 96754 United States
Vast sandy stretches and powerful waves made this the most awe inspiring beach on the island . The surrounding cliffs added drama to the view and welcome shade. 3 sea lions were resting on the far end!
Awesome beach for body boarding, not so much of you want to swim . There's a lot of large waves . Also bare in mind the hike down to the beach is 10 minutes along a steepish path.
Bring plenty of sunscreen for this no-tan-lines beach ! Pack extra water but note that there are no facilities nor vendors. Definitely the most beautiful beach in Kauai !
Most likely you'll be completely by yourself on the beach . Make sure you have comfortable shoes to hike down the muddy path, but it's totally worth it!!
GORGEOUS beach accessible by a short , steep trail . So peaceful and serene.
In the winter months after a rain, getting down to the beach can be tricky and slippery. Hold on to the fence on the left on the way down for support!
There is a natural spring falling down from the rocks on the beach (right hand side) you can refresh yourself underneath this spring if you want to wash out the salty water.
Stunning beach , one our favorites. Be careful if it's recently rained, the trail down is slippery and lots of people
Watch out for the undertow! Lots of tourists underestimate the strength of the current! Be safe and always swim with a buddy!
Save some energy for the hike back out. It is pretty steep going and slick in some places.
🙏 I've never seen anything like this before
Go down to watch the sunset - amazing - sandy Mohonathan
Take a left and walk all the way down the beach past the rocks and there is a small waterfall with swim holes. Beautiful.
Be careful venturing onto rocks: waves come and sweep you away.
As the name suggests, pretty secluded and quiet . Still, maybe not worth the hype... Snorkeling wasn't as great as at Kee beach and really hard to find the path to the beach .
This is an amazing beach , and it is pretty much all yours.
Great location for sunrise/sunset photos!
Wear sneakers for the hike down the trail .
Bring some bug spray for the short hike there and back
This ain't a secret anymore
please drive extra slow on the dirt road
