C'est le plus vieux monument de Paris avant les arènes de Lutèce, il fut transféré d'Egypte à Paris en 1830.
La escultura más antigua de Francia 3200 años tiene aprox.
Vieux de 3300 ans, il fût offert par l'Égypte à la France en 1836. Les hiéroglyphes célèbrent la gloire du pharaon Ramsès II. Le piédestal montre le transport et l'érection de l'obélisque .
