If you are by yourself get the 3 meat sample plate to get a little bit of everything. Brisket . Rib . Sausage . The smoke is intense and the BBQ sauce is amazing accompaniment to the smoky meats.
The pork here is a delicate balance of juicy richness and smoky flavor . Sauce isn't required, but I felt it helped bring out the meat spices. Topped with coleslaw , this sandwich is a cut above most.
We got here at 10:45a and it took us 45 mins to get to the register to order. Food came out fairly fast. Wife got the Hot Mess and loved it. Men, get the beef rib , burnt ends , and coleslaw . Do it.
We tried pretty much anything available… (was out of pulled pork and beef rib ). Food was absolutely amazing!! Brisket was my favorite. It was well worth the price and the trip from Indiana.
If you can sit at the bar , go there versus waiting in line . You can order from bar much faster. Burnt ends are sensational. Brisket is moist. Pulled pork was so flavorful. Pork ribs are tasty! Get M&C
Lives up to its reputation of being the best brisket in Dallas, but as an Alabama transplant, it's also got the best pulled pork I've eaten west of the Mississippi. I could eat here every day.
Definitely tasty. I would rate it in the top five but not sure I’d go all in. It’s in good company with Slowbone,Cattleack,Heims,Hutchins, I reserve the right to add to this list with myBrisket tour .
First BBQ spot on my first trip to Texas. All I could think of was BRISKET BRISKET BRISKET . After eating there that’s the last thing on my mind unfortunately. Pork ribs were amazing. Brisket .. dry
Chose the three meat platter with brisket , pork ribs and the jalapeño cheddar sausage . Have to go with the mac & cheese for the side, probably the best I’ve ever had.
Some of the best BBQ in Dallas . The air from blocks away teases you will the scent of smoked paprika . Try as many things as you can afford . Taste all of the house made sodas .
A wait for lunch but well worth it! Pulled pork was amazing & the brisket was juicy. Prices are good, cheap parking lot close by. Life changing Mac & cheese . If you want to skip the line go to the bar
Beef brisket and pulled pork are fantastic. Sides are okay, but the dessert is also really good. Get the trough (for big groups) or go Saturday around 3pm to avoid a wait.
Fave: beef rib , burnt ends , fatty brisket , Mac & cheese , blueberry soda ; Skip: sausage , fried okra , banana pudding
Best BBQ I've had in my life. If you're going to order more than 5 pounds, you can skip the line and go to the express cashier .
Great BBQ options or try the Hot Mess :Jumbo sea salted baked sweet potato loaded w/ texas barbacoa , butter, cheese , bacon , and green onions . Topped w/ chipotle sour cream .
Beef Ribs , 'nuff said! Well , that's not true, it's all GREAT! And the pulled pork , though not my first pick at a Texas BBQ joint , is amazing. More than 4 people? Get the TROUGH , it has all the meats!
Get "The Pitmaster" a massive sandwich piled high w/beef, pork & sausage , BBQ sauce & slaw topped w/fresh jalapeños on a bun made in house.
Two necessary orders: Burnt ends (better than the brisket itself) and beef rib (better than most steaks I’ve had). That order will set you back ~$40 but I think it’s totally worth it. ????
Best BBQ in town ! About an hour wait unless you go to the express line to buy 5+ lbs but it's worth it! You can even stop by the pie emporium next door while you have a friend wait and enjoy some pie !
Pecan Lodge has become a MUST for BBQ fanatics visiting Dallas. A 2-meat plate should hit the spot. Try it with the mac & cheese and fried okra . If you are feeling daring, try the Hot Mess .
You may have to wait in line , but the juicy, flavorful ‘que will be well worth it. They even have a meal that’s as big as Dallas, itself, “The Trough ” – a BBQ sampler serving 4-5 folks.
Busy and long line but they work so fast. We ordered five pounds of meat and some sides. We got it no more than 5 minutes ordering. It was all so delicious! I would definitely go back.
Top 5 North Texas BBQ joint . Bring a few hungry friends and try the Trough , the best sampler platter I've ever had! Brisket , ribs , sausage ...it's all damn good.
The absolute best barbecue place in Dallas! Their burnt ends & collard greens with bacon is delicious. Saw them on Food Network a few years ago & loved them since tasting their food a few months ago!
Some on the best BBQ in Texas. Get at least 4-5 people together and go to the express line and get "the trough " and whatever sides you want. It's the best way to cut the line .
Some of the best brisket anywhere…sausage links and Mac n Cheese we’re also excellent.
Holy SHIT!! So you know all the normal recs (brisket , beef ribs , #hotmess.. blah blah blah) but FUUUUUUCK they got some good-ass Banana Pudding too. Stick that shit in my VEEEEEEEINS (and/or mouth ????)
The BBQ is great,a must try in Dallas but the sides are a bit expensive for what they are. Their new location is great and the express line for large orders is very convenient.
Brisket is worth the wait. Get the jalapeno sausage ; it has more flavor than the regular. Also don't miss the tumbleweed cookie ...choc chips , coconut , PB, and pretzels !
By the time we got to the front to order everything was out except for the brisket and "hot mess ". But it was some damn good brisket . Mac n' cheese was also perfect.
Sausage , brisket , loaded baked potato , mac n cheese , and 2 cookies for less than $40. This is the America I know and love. Thank you for existing...
ProTip: skip the line by ordering food at the bar (dine-in only). You want to get the brisket . And the mac & cheese with bacon and green chilies is worth a try too.
Get here as early as possible. The line is long and come around 1:00 they start running out of items. Have never had BBQ that requires NO sauce! Totally awesome & worth the trip. Lived up to the hype!
The brisket is world class . That's just generally accepted. However, the beef rib was a real surprise. You order em one at a time, they weigh over a pound a piece and they're as good as the brisket .
Super good. Get the brisket , ribs , and jalapeño sausage with mac and cheese like everyone recommends. Be prepared for ~45 mins in line though
Maybe THE best BBQ in Dallas . Go early right when they open to get lunch before the line starts. Closed on Mondays. Try the hot mess , then take a nap.
Everything here is worth the wait, the Mac and Cheese is creamy, the meat is smoky, and the staff remember your name after taking your order. Get there about 30 before opening and hear the bell call.
Some of the best bbq I have ever had... and l can’t rave enough about the jalapeño Mac and cheese !!!
Some of the best barbecue I've had in Texas. That's saying something. So rich. So tender. So moist. So GOOD!
The chicken is brined overnight, single-coated in a flour mixture, and fried at a high temperature to keep it moist and crispy . The only seasoning: a pinch of onion powder and black pepper .
DELICIOUS- I especially loved the homemade sausages and the collard greens are to die for!!!!
The rest of Texas might disagree, but who cares? This is Big D, and in Dallas the greatest brisket can be found at Pecan Lodge. Read more
If you want a smaller / cheaper (yet just as filling) option, get the Pitmaster. It comes with brisket and sausage .
O M G!! From the Brisket that just falls apart to the hint of sugar in the greens, this place is wonderful.
Definitely lived up to the reviews. This place was delicious. The beef brisket was so tender and good.
Still the best BBQ in Dallas . Amongst the very best in Texas. Fantastic brisket . Very good beef rib . Good sausage .
Still the best BBQ in Dallas . Fantastic brisket . Excellent beef rib . Good sausage .
One of the best briskets I’ve ever tasted. Jalapeño sausages are great especially if you like a bit of a kick to your meat
The brisket is fall apart in your mouth amazing. Go at odd hours so you don't have to wait in line forever.
You can grab a drink while waiting in line - and it’s definitely worth the wait.
Sides reasonable, but meat is ????, and while the beef rib is delicious and filling, half of the price is the unattached bone. Two ribs and 4 slices of brisket was over $100, at close to $40/lb. - kristen loper
Chicken kabobs are splendid. Don't miss the BBQ pepper bottles sauce kept on each table. And a super rocking bean ham soup on the house. - Pallavi Arora Parmar
Had brisket and pulled pork. Amazing bbq. This is a must in dallas. - nord
Yum! We shared a slice of ‘Lord of the pies’ between 2. Large servings so you may want to share. Friendly service and a good selection of pies to choose from without getting confused. - Bianca Giorgetti
The prices are a little high but there is an AMAZING variety of candy (warheads, taffy, king sized) and different flavors of soda (bacon, grapefruit, pickle) - Cass Grimm
